SBS is set to launch a new sports entertainment program ‘League of Legends’ during the Lunar New Year holiday, featuring the ‘four current stars of archery’: Choi Mi-sun, Ansan, Lim Si-hyun, and Nam Soo-hyun.
SBS’s Lunar New Year special ‘League of Legends’ is a sports entertainment show that depicts timeless competitions among the legends of archery in South Korea, bringing together archery legends who have made waves not only in the country but around the world to determine the ‘legend among legends’.
The ‘four current stars’ revealed this time are ‘stars among stars’ with high recognition and impressive results in international competitions, including the Olympics. First, Choi Mi-sun is the ‘current eldest sister’ who gained attention by winning a team gold medal at the ‘2016 Rio Olympics’ and a team gold medal at the ‘2022 Hangzhou Asian Games’. Notably, she is a direct junior of Ki Bo-bae, who is also on the ‘legend’ lineup and helped secure the Olympic team gold medal.
Following Ki Bo-bae and Choi Mi-sun, Ansan, who continues the lineage of Gwangju University, will also join. Ansan is a star player who won gold medals in the team event, mixed team event, and individual event at the ‘2020 Tokyo Olympics’, making her an ‘Olympic triple champion’.
Stars from the ‘2024 Paris Olympics’ will also join. Lim Si-hyun, who swept gold medals in the team event, mixed team event, and individual event, and is currently ranked number one in the world, along with Nam Soo-hyun, born in 2005, who made her debut at the ‘2024 Paris Olympics’ and won a team gold medal and an individual silver medal, have confirmed their participation, creating a ‘strong current lineup of four’.
Previously announced ‘legend lineup’ includes Ki Bo-bae, Yoon Mi-jin, Jang Hye-jin, Joo Hyun-jung, Yoon Ok-hee, Choi Hyun-joo, Lee Sung-jin, and Kim Moon-jung. With the addition of the ‘current lineup’ of Choi Mi-sun, Ansan, Lim Si-hyun, and Nam Soo-hyun, ‘League of Legends’ has completed an unprecedentedly strong ‘player lineup’ that rivals the national team. Legends and current players will engage in a heated competition through team matches.
Additionally, ‘national representative caster’ Bae Seong-jae, YouTuber Chimchakman, and Lee Woo-seok, a gold medalist in the men’s recurve team event at the ‘2024 Paris Olympics’, will join the commentary team. The SBS Lunar New Year special ‘League of Legends’ will record timeless competitions among South Korea’s archery legends and will be broadcast during the Lunar New Year holiday.
