The ‘2024 KBS Acting Awards’ paid tribute to the Jeju Air passenger plane tragedy.
On the broadcast of the ‘2024 KBS Acting Awards’ on the 11th, MCs Jang Seong-kyu, actor Seo Hyun, and Moon Sang-min expressed their condolences before the award ceremony.
Jang Seong-kyu said, “Not long ago, there was a heartbreaking incident for the entire nation,” and added, “I extend my deepest condolences and comfort to the victims of the plane tragedy and their families.”
On December 29 of last year, a Jeju Air passenger plane carrying 181 passengers collided with the runway's outer wall during landing at An-Guk International Airport, resulting in a fire that claimed the lives of 179 people and injured 2, marking a major disaster.
The ‘2024 KBS Acting Awards’ was originally scheduled to be broadcast live on December 31 of last year but was canceled due to the aftermath of the Jeju Air passenger plane tragedy. The award ceremony was then conducted as a recorded event.
Nominees for the Grand Prize included Lee Soon-jae from the drama ‘Dog Barking’, Ji Hyun-woo and Lim Soo-hyang from ‘Beauty and the Beast’, Kim Jung-hyun and Park Ji-young from ‘Iron Family’, and Kim Ha-neul from ‘Let’s Grab the Collar Once’.
