Actors Ji Hyun-woo and Im Soo-hyang from 'Beauty and the Beast', Kim Jung-hyun and Geum Sae-rok from 'Iron Family', Baek Seong-hyun and Ham Eun-jung from 'Our Suzy', Shin Hyun-joon, Park Ji-young, and Kim Hye-eun from 'Iron Family', and Yeon-woo, Ari, and Lee Soon-jae from 'Barking Dog' received the Best Couple Award at the '2024 KBS Drama Awards'.
Yeon-woo, Ari, and Lee Soon-jae from 'Barking Dog' received the Best Couple Award during the broadcast of the '2024 KBS Drama Awards' on the 11th.
Lee Soon-jae said, "Sophie is also a complete lead. Her abilities are so outstanding that I almost fell behind. Everyone was a lead in their own part, with no supporting or leading roles." Yeon-woo expressed, "I am happy to receive this award with Teacher Lee Soon-jae and Ari."
Ji Hyun-woo from 'Beauty and the Beast' stated, "I am happy to receive the Best Couple Award," adding, "While working on the love line over 50 episodes, I think I received this award because Gong Jindan troubled me and Yoon Yoo-sun's mother opposed it." He expressed gratitude to the 'Beauty and the Beast' team. In response, Im Soo-hyang said, "It feels great to hear that we did well in acting because we matched well over 50 episodes. It was possible because my brother looked at Dora with truly loving eyes."
Kim Jung-hyun from 'Iron Family' said, "I am happy to receive this meaningful award with Geum Sae-rok. This is my first Best Couple Award as well. It doubles my joy to receive it with Geum Sae-rok, who I act with." Geum Sae-rok added, "This is my first time, and it's also my brother's first Best Couple Award, so I am grateful. I will work hard for the remaining filming period."
Baek Seong-hyun from 'Our Suzy' remarked, "I didn't expect it, so I am bewildered," while Ham Eun-jung said, "We worked together about 12 years ago in 'Insoo's Daughters'. I thought we would have good chemistry meeting again."
Baek Seong-hyun also shared, "I was greedy for the Best Couple Award, but it's rare for a daily drama to receive it, so I didn't have high expectations. My chemistry with Ham Eun-jung was perfect from start to finish," expressing his gratitude.
Shin Hyun-joon from 'Iron Family' said, "I really didn't expect it," adding, "It's nice that the three of us received the award." Kim Hye-eun expressed, "I wanted to receive it with Kim Jung-hyun," jokingly mentioning, "There are many fighting scenes with Shin Hyun-joon." Park Ji-young said, "We had amazing chemistry. Thank you for seeing us beautifully."
The '2024 KBS Drama Awards', hosted by broadcaster Jang Seong-kyu and actors Seo Hyun and Moon Sang-min, was originally scheduled to be broadcast live on December 31 last year but was canceled due to the aftermath of the Jeju Air passenger plane disaster. The awards ceremony was recorded instead.
Nominees for the Grand Prize included Lee Soon-jae from the drama 'Barking Dog', Ji Hyun-woo and Im Soo-hyang from 'Beauty and the Beast', Kim Jung-hyun and Park Ji-young from 'Iron Family', and Kim Ha-neul from 'Let's Grab the Collar'.
