Lee Chan-won, the singer known as the ‘Son of KBS’ who won the 2024 Entertainment Awards trophy, will showcase his wit during the Lunar New Year holiday on home television.
Following his active participation in last year's KBS long-running program ‘Immortal Songs’, as well as ‘High-End Water Strider’, ‘Newly Released Restaurant’, and ‘Celebrity Soldier’s Secret’, Lee Chan-won continued his momentum with the ‘Chuseok Special Show Lee Chan-won’s Gift’. He has now carried that momentum to win the Entertainment Awards trophy.
Lee Chan-won, who proudly made his name on the list of ‘KBS Youngest Entertainment Award Winners’, will continue his activities during the Lunar New Year holiday on KBS. He will challenge himself as a soccer commentator in the new KBS sports entertainment program ‘Ballunteer’, which airs on the 27th and 28th, and will serve as the sole MC for the ‘KBS Lunar New Year Special Trot Festival THE COLOR’ (hereinafter referred to as ‘Trot Festival’) airing on the 29th.
‘Ballunteer’, which was only available on KBS Sports YouTube, will be specially aired on KBS2 to meet more viewers during the Lunar New Year holiday. ‘Ballunteer’ is a public interest entertainment program that combines BALL (soccer ball) + VOLUNTEER (volunteer), where legendary soccer stars from South Korea compete in a futsal match against amateur teams to raise donations.
Lee Chan-won will make his debut as a soccer commentator through ‘Ballunteer’. Having proven his capabilities as a baseball commentator with expert-level knowledge and presence, Lee Chan-won has expressed, “If I hadn’t become a singer, I would have pursued a career as a sports announcer,” raising expectations for his performance.
In addition, Lee Chan-won will take on the role of sole host for ‘Trot Festival’. Under his hosting, various generations of trot artists will gather for an exciting stage performance. In addition to Lee Chan-won, artists such as Oh Yu-jin, Hong Ji-yoon, Kim Yeon-ja, Jin-sung, and Park Seo-jin are expected to deliver delightful performances.

Meanwhile, ‘Ballunteer’ will air on the 27th at 6:25 PM and on the 28th at 7:20 PM. ‘Trot Festival’ will be broadcast on the 29th at 7 PM.
