In the 14th episode of the full-fledged real street food documentary ‘Jeon Hyun-moo Plan 2’ (co-produced by MBN and Channel S), 'Mukbro' Jeon Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube (Kwak Jun-bin) met with Jeon Hyun-moo's long-time friends from 'Abnormal Summit', Alberto Mondi, Lucky, and Daniel Lindemann, to discover the 'true' restaurants in Sacheon, Gyeongsangnam-do. They explored a restaurant with a 100-year tradition of 'Sacheon cold noodles' and 'water catfish soup' with a texture as soft as 'cotton', as well as Alberto Mondi's favorite grilled oyster spot, captivating viewers at home with their Korean-like tastes and eating shows.
On this day, Jeon Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube, who visited Sacheon for the first time, went to a restaurant with a 52-year tradition to try 'fresh cod soup' recommended by local citizens. However, the restaurant owner delivered the shocking news that "there was not a single cod available at the auction." Disheartened, the two decided to try the 'water catfish soup' that the owner strongly recommended instead. Shortly after, a bowl of 'water catfish soup' filled with snow-white flesh was served, and Jeon Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube were enchanted by the umami explosion of the soup, activating their 'truthful eyebrows'. They also marveled at the melt-in-your-mouth texture. After tasting fresh 'mulhoe' (cold raw fish soup), Jeon Hyun-moo became completely 'hooked' on the special sauce, jokingly asking, "Should I take this with me?"
After successfully finishing their meal, Jeon Hyun-moo called upon Alberto Mondi, Lucky, and Daniel Lindemann, who had arrived in Sacheon earlier, saying, "I invited the people among my acquaintances who love Korean food the most and have been with me for a long time, like family." Alberto, who knows Sacheon well, handed 'Sacheon honey bread' to Jeon Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube, who praised it as "the best among regional representative breads" while giving a thumbs up. Immediately after, Kwak Tube asked, "Is there any Korean food you can't eat?" To which Alberto Mondi, an Italian who has lived in Korea for 18 years, confidently replied, "I'm a huge fan of fermented skate. My favorite restaurant is a fermented skate course restaurant." Daniel Lindemann, a German who has lived in Korea for 18 years, chimed in, "I even filmed a documentary about fermented skate. I ate fermented skate for 8 meals over 3 days," leading to an unexpected fermented skate battle.
In the lively atmosphere, Jeon Hyun-moo suggested, "Let's go eat the original Sacheon cold noodles," and they moved to their next destination. Lucky expressed his dissatisfaction, saying, "Are we really going to eat cold noodles after coming all the way to Sacheon?" However, those who welcomed the 100-year-old original 'Sacheon cold noodles' experienced a 'taste paradise' by wrapping cold noodles in pork meat pancakes. Jeon Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube praised it, saying, "This is a real treasure. I've never had cold noodles like this from all over the country." After refreshing themselves with the cool cold noodles, Jeon Hyun-moo said, "Since you know Sacheon better, I'll follow you," initiating the 'Alberto Plan'. Alberto Mondi explained, "The reason I travel this far is that the oysters in winter are a work of art." Shortly after, he took everyone to his favorite hidden grilled oyster spot. Jeon Hyun-moo, enchanted by the charm of the seaside plastic house restaurant, exclaimed, "The atmosphere is amazing. I have to book a pension if I come here."
After a while, the restaurant owner presented fresh oysters, abalone, and scallops grown in the clean waters of Sacheon. Jeon Hyun-moo, Kwak Tube, and others eagerly grilled the shellfish and brought them to their mouths. When fresh raw oysters were served, Jeon Hyun-moo offered a 'vitality blessing' to Daniel Lindemann, saying, "Newlywed, eat a lot~," to which Daniel Lindemann responded, "I will solve the low birth rate issue," creating a hilarious chemistry. In the midst of this, Jeon Hyun-moo let out a deep sigh and revealed his true feelings, saying, "I really want to come here with a woman," eliciting laughter.
