As Ok Tae-young's tumultuous fate finally comes to an end, the actors have shared their thoughts on the series finale in advance.
JTBC's weekend drama ‘Lady Oksun’ (written by Park Ji-sook, directed by Jin Hyuk and Choi Bo-yoon) is set to air its final episode today (26th), and Im Ji-yeon (playing Ok Tae-young), Choo Young-woo (playing Cheon Seung-hwi), Kim Jae-won (playing Seong Do-gyeom), and Yeon Woo (playing Cha Mi-ryeong) are stirring up both nostalgia and anticipation with their final greetings to the viewers.
First, Im Ji-yeon expressed, “Ok Tae-young is a poignant character that makes me cheer for myself while acting, which makes it even more special. I was surprised that so many people immersed themselves in Ok Tae-young's life, and I received many warm and encouraging messages, which made each day of the broadcast a happy one. I feel grateful to start 2025 surrounded by so much love, and I believe I have gained the motivation to live a new year. I hope everyone has a blessed new year.”
Choo Young-woo, who expressed gratitude for being able to live as Cheon Seung-hwi from the first script reading to filming and broadcasting, said, “While preparing for this project, I had many memorable experiences that will stay with me for a long time, and I think I received more attention thanks to the wonderful character of Seung-hwi. I would like to thank the director once again for trusting me with this role, and I am truly happy that so many people loved it as much as we all cared and put our hearts into it. I hope it will be remembered as a warm piece in the hearts of the viewers.”
Kim Jae-won also revealed his special attachment to the character, saying, “Every moment I existed as Do-gyeom was a valuable time that allowed me to grow as an actor.” He added, “In the new year, I wish you all health and happiness, and no matter what twists and turns you face, I hope you navigate through them wisely like the Oksun family, including Ok Tae-young, Cheon Seung-hwi, Seong Do-gyeom, and Cha Mi-ryeong.”
Finally, Yeon Woo shared, “Since ‘Lady Oksun’ is my first historical drama, I was very nervous and anxious, but thanks to all the fellow actors, I feel like I learned a lot and had a good experience that will stay with me for a long time.” She also expressed her gratitude, saying, “It was truly an honor to be part of such a wonderful project, and I am very thankful to the viewers who supported us.”
As much as the actors' heartfelt greetings, interest in the final story of ‘Lady Oksun’ is growing even more. Having returned from being a respected lady to a servant, Ok Tae-young is not only standing her ground against her master, Kim So-hye (played by Ha Yul-ri), but is also trying to uncover the schemes of the Minister of Personnel, Park Jun-ki (played by Choi Jung-woo). Despite losing everything, the audience is eager to see if Ok Tae-young, who never knows how to give up, can once again change her life.
The indomitable icon Im Ji-yeon, who will rise above the crisis and carve her own path, along with the fates of Choo Young-woo, Kim Jae-won, and Yeon Woo, can be confirmed in the final episode of JTBC's weekend drama ‘Lady Oksun’ airing today (26th) at 10:30 PM.
