Actress Jang Shin-young indirectly mentioned the difficult time she faced due to her husband Kang Kyung-jun's infidelity.
In the episode of KBS2’s ‘New Menu Launch Pyeon Restaurant’ aired on the 31st, Jang Shin-young made her debut as a new chef.
On that day, after dropping her son off at school, Jang Shin-young wrote a shopping list. After carefully preparing the list, she confidently stated, “30,000 won should be enough,” but the ‘Pyeon Restaurant’ panel expressed disbelief, saying, “I don’t think that’s possible,” and “Prices are too high these days.”
Jang Shin-young rode her bicycle to the supermarket. However, she picked up and put down items without buying anything, raising curiosity. She explained, “I wanted to evaluate what’s good and what’s not, so I was researching the market prices.”
After giving up on shopping due to high prices, Jang Shin-young headed to another supermarket just five minutes away. She purchased garlic shoots, zucchini, and Vienna sausages, then returned to the first supermarket to buy the remaining ingredients. However, she could not buy the most expensive spinach and seaweed. Jang Shin-young caught attention by co-purchasing ingredients with her neighborhood friends.
Jang Shin-young said, “I moved here two years ago and met some great friends. They are really kind and good-natured people. When I was sick and struggling, no one was around, but they took care of me, worrying about how I was doing. They didn’t even call me, just sent a message saying, ‘I left it at your door, so take care of it.’ I am so grateful for them,” which evoked emotion.
Jang Shin-young indirectly mentioned Kang Kyung-jun's infidelity, saying, “When I was feeling a bit down and exhausted, I think my child sensed it. I felt that I needed to pull myself together, so I tried to spend time outside with my son and make our home more enjoyable and comfortable. It seems like everyone has gradually found their place again.”
Hearing this, Lee Geum-hee said, “It must have been quite noisy in your heart,” to which Jang Shin-young replied, “For me, my child and family are everything in life, so I didn’t want to lose that.” She continued, “I realized that ‘my children give me strength.’ I vowed to ‘not fall apart and get back up’ for the sake of my children. I also made a lot of effort to return to my daily life. Eating meals with my family while smiling was happiness, and I think I tried to live like that so I wouldn’t forget those small joys.”
