tvN STORY's first large-scale trot survival show ‘Handsome Trot’ will finally unveil its secrets tonight (21st, Friday) at 10 PM.
tvN STORY’s ‘Handsome Trot’ (directed by Hwang Da-won, written by Jeong Soo-jeong) is a new music entertainment show where 12 male stars representing the entertainment industry challenge trot with sincerity. The lineup includes unexpected stars such as MMA fighter Choo Sung-hoon, actors Jang Hyuk, Choi Dae-cheol, In Gyo-jin, Ji Seung-hyun, Jung Gyeo-woon, Tae Hang-ho, Hyun Woo, Kim Dong-ho, Lee Tae-ri, former national fencing player Kim Jun-ho, and Han Jeong-wan, raising expectations.
The first broadcast will depict the first meeting of the 12 representative stars from the entertainment industry, united by their genuine passion for trot. The stars, who appeared at the opening without knowing each other's identities, quickly began to compete, exclaiming, “This person is cheating!” They will challenge the ‘T4’ determined by the trot producers' choices in each round, and the final four will receive the privilege of debuting as trot singers with songs from famous composers.
The first round, which began with a surprise duet stage by trot producers Jang Min-ho and Lee Chan-won, is titled ‘Handsome Introduction’. From the legendary stage's protagonist who claimed the ‘Lee Chan-won’s Pick’ title to the ‘Trot Enthusiast’ whose unique sincerity touched everyone’s hearts, the stage is highly anticipated. In particular, to support their new challenges, family members, entertainment industry stars, and even the original songwriters will all make appearances, increasing curiosity about the show.
In a pre-released video for the first episode, Choo Sung-hoon preparing for his first stage has drawn attention. Ahead of the much-anticipated stage, Choo Sung-hoon stated, “In a competition, no one thinks they will lose from the start. My determination is to work hard to stay until the end,” showcasing the instincts of a fighter even before the stage.
Choo Sung-hoon’s prepared stage is Na Hoon-a’s ‘Why Are You Crying’. From the moment he appeared, he showcased a remarkable presence, overwhelming the stage with his chilling vocal techniques and rich vocals from the first line of the song. MC and trot producer Lee Chan-won and Jang Min-ho smiled broadly after hearing just one line, sparking curiosity about the main stage. The anticipation is growing to see if Choo Sung-hoon can rise to T4.
‘Handsome Trot’, which will portray another genuine passion for trot, will premiere on Friday, the 21st, at 10 PM on tvN STORY, and will also be available on tvN at 11:40 PM that day.
