Actress Park Hae-mi revealed her two sons.
In the 6th episode of the MBC Every1·MBN entertainment program “I’m Grown Up but Not Going Out,” the scene depicted Hwang Seong-jae hosting a housewarming party for Shin Jeong-yoon and Lee Boo-hyung, who visited a marriage information company.
Shin Jeong-yoon, who was tired of hearing nagging about marriage every time she met people, expressed her curiosity about how she would be evaluated in the marriage market and sought out a marriage information company. She shared her concerns, saying, “I have a visible job, so starting a relationship is difficult and burdensome.”
To check her rating within the marriage information company, Shin Jeong-yoon honestly filled out her profile. She confessed, “I only started making big money last year. Until then, I was just living off part-time jobs. The acting profession varies from time to time. There are times when I hit rock bottom,” revealing that her current assets include two cars and 40 million won in cash.
After the analysis, the representative of the marriage information company told Shin Jeong-yoon, “Your appearance, personality, and vision are top-tier,” but added, “What’s important is economic power. The average asset of a man in his 40s is about 800 million won. Many have high salaries and own homes.” They also mentioned that being an unstable actor and living with a single mother as a “kangaroo” (adult child living with parents) are disadvantages in the marriage market.
Overall, Shin Jeong-yoon’s rating was ‘medium.’ She expressed her shock at the reality of the marriage market, saying, “I’ve never received such low grades even in school, so it was a bit shocking. It felt like I was facing reality more directly.”
Shin Jeong-yoon candidly shared what she heard from the marriage information company with her mother. She reflected, “I didn’t expect my father to pass away suddenly. I also thought that my mother could leave us suddenly, so I spent more time with my family. If I start my own family, my mother would lose her family, and I wonder how lonely she would feel. (Marriage) seems like an unsolvable homework and a problem I need to think about,” drawing attention.
On that day, Hwang Seong-jae also invited Lee Boo-hyung to his newly moved-in house with Park Hae-mi. Hwang Seong-jae shared, “I thought I was an only child, but I had an older brother when I was in the second grade of elementary school. There’s an 11-year age difference between us. I followed my brother well and shared all my worries with him. He played the role of mediator very well when I fought with my mom. He didn’t take sides; he comforted me by siding with my mom when he was with her and siding with me when he was with me.” He expressed his affection for his brother.
Lee Boo-hyung, unlike Hwang Seong-jae, made Park Hae-mi smile with his warm demeanor. He watched the playful banter between Park Hae-mi and Hwang Seong-jae. Park Hae-mi, with concern for Hwang Seong-jae, boldly gave him a piece of her mind. In response, Lee Boo-hyung shared tips with Park Hae-mi on how to communicate without arguing with Hwang Seong-jae, easing her worries.
Park Hae-mi also opened up about why she speaks frankly to Hwang Seong-jae. She said, “I really love Seong-jae. That’s why I want things to go well. I hope he understands that and carves out his own path. He pretends to be strong but is a weak friend. So I worry a lot.” She continued, “I endured because I love both of you. That’s how I reached this age. It’s upsetting. But I have no regrets,” confessing her genuine feelings for her two sons, moving the audience.
“I’m Grown Up but Not Going Out” airs every Saturday at 8:20 PM on MBC Every1 and MBN.
