Actress Jeon Hye-jin expressed her feelings about her return.
On the afternoon of the 25th, an online production presentation for the Genie TV original drama 'Riding Life' (written by Seong Yoon-ah and Jo Won-dong, directed by Kim Cheol-kyu) was held. Attending the event were Jeon Hye-jin, Jo Min-soo, Jung Jin-young, Jeon Seok-ho, and director Kim Cheol-kyu.
'Riding Life' depicts the life of three generations of women in Daechi-dong, focusing on a passionate working mom, Jeong Eun, who entrusts her daughter’s riding lessons to her mother, Ji-a, as her daughter prepares for the '7-year-old exam.'
After her husband Lee Seon-kyun suddenly passed away in December 2023, Jeon Hye-jin temporarily halted her activities, but she returns to the small screen for the first time in two years since 'Namnam.'
In the drama, Jeon Hye-jin plays the role of Lee Jeong-eun, a passionate working mom who wants to excel in both work and parenting. She unexpectedly faces conflicts with her daughter when she has to entrust her daughter Seo-yoon's riding lessons to her mother Yoon Ji-a.
Jeon Hye-jin stated, "She is a woman with a career who is putting all her effort into raising her daughter. She wants to do well in both, but she struggles in the harsh reality." She added, "I have always been very interested in education. I can't help but be, especially when you have the title of 'mother.' This story is set in the Daechi-dong academy area, so it inevitably draws attention. There are also stories of mothers that are heartbreaking and pitiful, which attracted me to participate."
She mentioned that her synchronization with Lee Jeong-eun is about 70%. Jeon Hye-jin said, "Since I work and have a child, I think the synchronization is high," and added, "I wonder if I am as passionate as Jeong-eun? I think a lot about it, and I feel that the uncertainty of 'Is this right?' and not knowing the answer is something I relate to. I try my best according to the situation, but I don't think I can be as good as Jeong-eun."
She continued, "Through Jeong-eun, I want to support and encourage mothers like her. You are doing your best, and while the path may deviate a little, and you may have regrets about things you wish you hadn't done, I hope you feel encouraged while watching."
'Riding Life' will premiere on March 3 at 10 PM.
