Singer Hong Seo-beom and Jo Gab-kyung will join 'Grown Up but Not Leaving' to share their daily lives with their two daughters, who are part of the kangaroo generation.
According to a report by Maeil Business Newspaper's Star Today on the 26th, the Hong Seo-beom and Jo Gab-kyung family has been selected as the new family for the MBC Every1 and MBN entertainment program 'Grown Up but Not Leaving.'
Their eldest daughter, Hong Seok-hee, attempted to become independent by starting a café, but after the café went out of business, she became part of the kangaroo generation. Their second daughter, Hong Seok-joo, is living with her parents while aspiring to be a celebrity. Hong Seok-joo appeared on the musical stage 'My Mom' in 2015 with her mother Jo Gab-kyung and sister Hong Seok-hee, and she also gained recognition by participating in Channel A's '2019 DIMF Musical Star.'
Following a pilot broadcast last October, 'Grown Up but Not Leaving' returned last month with regular programming, offering honest laughter and empathy through the daily lives of stars living with their parents, capturing the essence of the kangaroo generation.
The term 'kangaroo generation' refers to those who, after the age of 25, live dependent on their parents regardless of employment status. Recently, the rising housing prices in the metropolitan area and the burden of living expenses have led to an increasing number of young people living with their parents. Currently, one in two young people is considered part of the kangaroo generation.
'Grown Up but Not Leaving' reflects this trend, featuring popular guests such as Park Hae-mi and her son Hwang Seong-jae, rapper Jijo, actor Shin Jeong-yoon, and Infinite's Dong-woo, who share their daily lives.
Meanwhile, 'Grown Up but Not Leaving' airs every Saturday at 8:20 PM on MBC Every1 and MBN.
