Actor Yang Hyun-min and Choi Cham-rang have announced that they will start IVF treatments again.
In the episode aired on the 10th, SBS 'Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 - You Are My Destiny' depicted the daily life of the couple Yang Hyun-min and Choi Cham-rang.
On this day, Choi Cham-rang mentioned IVF, saying, "If you are okay with it, I was thinking about trying IVF again." Yang Hyun-min responded, "Do you want to do IVF? We talked about stopping it not long ago and leaving it to fate. Didn't we also tell our parents that if we have a child naturally, we will have it, and if not, we will just live together?"
When Choi Cham-rang said, "Still, I think it would be better to try again before it's too late," Yang Hyun-min replied, "I don't like seeing you struggle. That's why I suggested we stop (IVF). Of course, it would be harder for you, but seeing you like that..." he couldn't finish his sentence.
It turned out that the couple had attempted IVF five times but failed. Yang Hyun-min honestly stated, "Even now, I don't really think, 'Yes, let's do it.'" Choi Cham-rang expressed her firm resolve, saying, "I also found it hard and thought it would be difficult to try again. That's why I took a break. Nevertheless, I felt that it would be good to try once more."
In an interview with the production team, Yang Hyun-min shared, "I like children and want to have a child. But I didn't get married to have a child; I married because I love my wife. (My wife) has struggled a lot with IVF. She gets sad and thinks of herself as a failure."
He continued, "If I could take the injections or give birth instead, I would have done it long ago. But there is no way. I can only watch. So I thought about what I could do, and I considered quitting smoking and drinking. I didn't just reduce it; I quit all at once. Even so, a child hasn't come. If a child comes, that's great, and if not, that's okay. I just need my wife."
Afterward, Yang Hyun-min and Choi Cham-rang visited a fertility center. They were worried due to the long break, but the test results showed no issues. The doctor encouraged them, saying, "There are no particular abnormalities. Let's work hard and try again."
