The wedding ceremony of comedian Shim Hyun-seop has drawn attention, particularly regarding who will host and perform at the event. Among the candidates for the host is actor Lee Byung-hun.
In the episode of TV Chosun's entertainment program ‘Lovers of Joseon’ aired on the 17th, Shim Hyun-seop was seen choosing wedding invitations with his fiancée Jeong Yeong-rim ahead of their April wedding.
As their preferences differed, Hwang Bo remarked, “(Shim Hyun-seop) is surprisingly stubborn. (Yeong-rim) should be grateful just to be marrying him...” revealing his inner thoughts and causing laughter.
Ultimately, they decided on a simple and elegant design chosen by Jeong Yeong-rim, and Shim Hyun-seop wrote the greeting. After an emotional message, he jokingly added, “Kim Jong-min and Ailee are also getting married on the same day, so please come to us first...” eliciting laughter. Kim Gook-jin revealed that “Jong-min already sent out his invitations,” putting him in a difficult situation as he had already confirmed his attendance. He pondered, “Should I be abroad that day?!” to which Choi Seong-guk provided a clear solution, saying, “You can go to Ailee’s wedding (which you don’t know about).”
Additionally, Lee Cheon-soo, who serves as the chairman of the ‘Wedding Promotion Committee’ representing the ‘Cheongsong Shim Clan,’ visited Shim Hyun-seop to fulfill his election promise. Shim Hyun-seop surprised everyone by naming Lee Byung-hun, his senior from high school, as his desired host.
Shim Hyun-seop recalled, “Lee Byung-hun, whom I met at a screening over ten years ago, said, ‘Make sure to call me when you get married,’ and offered to host.” Following this, Shim Hyun-seop and Lee Cheon-soo mobilized all their connections to launch the 2025 major project ‘Inviting Host Lee Byung-hun.’ Additionally, singers Sung Si-kyung and Lee Moon-sae, who have comforted Shim Hyun-seop during his tough times as ‘the man of the pond,’ were chosen to perform, raising expectations for a ‘luxurious wedding.’
