Actress Seo Hyorim visited the columbarium of the late Kim Sumi.
On the 18th, TV Chosun's ‘Dad and Me’ depicted Seo Hyorim's daily life.
On that day, Seo Hyorim visited the columbarium of the late Kim Sumi with her husband and father. Seo Hyorim said, “During my mother-in-law's funeral, there were so many people that my dad stayed far away. Since my dad's personality is not one to step forward, I thought he might not have been able to say a proper goodbye to my mother-in-law, so I wanted to visit quietly.”
Upon arriving at the columbarium, Seo Hyorim said, “My mom gets cold easily. So, we placed her in a warm spot where the sunlight shines well.” Letters from Gong Hyung-jin and Lee Sang-yong were attached to the columbarium, catching attention.
Seo Hyorim stated, “It still feels like (my mom) went out to film. (Her passing) feels so unreal. I can't believe that my mom is in that small urn.”
Seo Hyorim's husband recalled the moment of Kim Sumi's passing. He said, “I received a call from my father early in the morning. When I arrived, (my mother) was lying next to the bed, and in that brief moment of moving her to the bed, I felt her body was very cold. After laying her down, it seemed like she wasn't breathing, so I immediately called 119. The paramedics said, ‘It seems like she had already been in cardiac arrest for a few hours.’” He added, “I really can't believe it. Even now, I need time to fully accept, acknowledge, and understand it.”
Seo Hyorim's father turned away and quietly shed tears. He said, “I turned away without realizing it. I didn't want to show my tears in front of her.” He continued, “It's so sad that she's gone. She must still have a lot to do. I had many thoughts about this and that. It was heartbreaking that she left so soon.”
As everyone was leaving, Seo Hyorim's husband couldn't bring himself to leave. He said, “I will raise our daughter well. Let's meet again soon. I will come back.”
