Actress Jang Shin-young sheds tears as she expresses her gratitude to the friends who helped her endure during difficult times.
On today’s (21st) broadcast of KBS 2TV’s entertainment program ‘New Menu Pyeon Restaurant’ (hereafter ‘Pyeon Restaurant’), Jang Shin-young invites her 6-year-old son Jung-woo’s friends and their mothers to her home for a fun time. Jang Shin-young especially confesses her heartfelt feelings to those who have stood by her during tough times, as well as those involved in co-parenting.
In the VCR released that day, Jang Shin-young prepares various dishes to celebrate her 6-year-old son Jung-woo’s friend’s birthday party. She usually co-parents with the mothers of Jung-woo’s kindergarten friends and they have become close friends by hosting each other’s children’s birthday parties. They must have been worried about me, so they came and rang the bell, saying ‘it’s nothing,’ and I was so touched that I cried so much.”
As Jang Shin-young shed tears of gratitude, one friend warmly embraced her, saying, “We all cried at that time. You cried inside, and we cried outside.” Jang Shin-young expressed, “We’ve only known each other for three years, but they comforted me with actions rather than words. They are friends that I wouldn’t trade for anything,” and added, “I endured because you were there. Thank you.”
In fact, Jang Shin-young went through a painful time last year when her husband, Kang Kyung-jun, was embroiled in an infidelity controversy. At that time, the complainant A claimed that Kang Kyung-jun committed an immoral act knowing that his wife was married, and filed a lawsuit for damages amounting to 50 million won, raising suspicions of an affair. Kang Kyung-jun accepted the other party’s claims during the first trial session six months later, concluding the lawsuit.
Kang Kyung-jun’s side stated, “We could no longer endure the situation that caused harm and discomfort to the other party, our families, and those watching, so we decided to conclude the lawsuit by accepting the other party’s claims,” and Jang Shin-young, who effectively became the head of the family, resumed her broadcasting activities eight months after her husband’s controversy.
