Seo Kang-joon and Kim Shin-rok engaged in a fierce battle of wits without any retreat.
In the 9th episode of MBC's Friday-Saturday drama 'Undercover High School' (planned by Nam Goong-seong, written by Lim Young-bin, directed by Choi Jeong-in, hereafter 'Under School'), Jung Hae-seong (played by Seo Kang-joon) and Oh Soo-ah (played by Jin Ki-joo) returned safely to school, while Seo Myung-joo (played by Kim Shin-rok), who had been under police investigation for the scandal, reappeared, freezing everyone in place. On this day, the viewership rating recorded 6.1% based on Nielsen Korea's nationwide household survey. The scene where Hae-seong and the students of Class 1-2 took a group photo while cleaning the school soared to 9.1%.
In this broadcast, shocking truths related to the internal affairs scandal were revealed. The assailant who attacked Soo-ah and the person involved in the school corruption was math teacher Lee Joon-ho (played by Noh Jong-hyun). Hae-seong discovered that Joon-ho had taken his father's notebook under Myung-joo's orders, and although Joon-ho pleaded with Myung-joo to protect him, she coldly turned him away, raising curiosity about whether Joon-ho could return to his original position.
The scene where Hae-seong dealt with Myung-joo's henchman Park Jae-moon (played by Park Jin-woo) was exhilarating. Park Mi-jeong (played by Yoon Ga-i) and Ko Young-hoon (played by Jo Bok-rae), who were monitoring Joon-ho, witnessed him getting into Park Jae-moon's (played by Park Jin-woo) car and chased after him. However, before Hae-seong arrived, the two couldn't contain their overflowing enthusiasm and confronted Jae-moon's group, only to be outmatched, which brought laughter. Hae-seong, who appeared late, quickly resolved the situation, providing both tension and satisfaction.
Hae-seong headed to the chairman's office to catch Myung-joo off guard. He asked her why she had chosen him for this operation instead of someone else, and then showed her news of Joon-ho attending the police station, putting pressure on her. Moreover, he pulled out decisive evidence contained in a USB, cornering her further. Nevertheless, Myung-joo faced him with an unwavering attitude, even smiling chillingly despite being cut off by Director Kim (played by Lee Seo-hwan), who had been in collusion with her.
At the end of the broadcast, as a scholarship officer visited the school, Myung-joo and Jae-moon appeared together, shocking everyone. Myung-joo exchanged sharp greetings with Soo-ah, creating a chilling atmosphere, and told Hae-seong, "This is the end of the student games," tearing off her name tag, escalating the tension between the two.
Thus, the 9th episode of 'Undercover High School' led viewers to the peak of immersion with Hae-seong and Myung-joo's struggles to get one step closer to the final ghost story. Additionally, while the internal affairs scandal seemed to be resolved, Myung-joo's reappearance overwhelmed the atmosphere, heightening anticipation for the next broadcast.
'Undercover High School' Episode 10 will air today, the 22nd, at 9:50 PM.
