Park Seo-jin has started preparing for busking to keep his viewership promise.
On the afternoon of the 22nd, KBS2's 'Salim Nam Season 2' (hereafter 'Salim Nam') featured Park Seo-jin and Song Baek-kyung sharing their daily lives.
On this day, Park Seo-jin and his sister Park Hyo-jung appeared as the first Salim Nam. The two prepared dishes like braised short ribs, spicy soybean paste stew, and stir-fried squid as if welcoming someone.
Seo-jin introduced, "Today, I have friends who will help with the busking," and Baek-kyung remarked, "Ah~! You promised to busk," referring to Seo-jin's viewership promise.
Park Seo-jin said, "I wished for a viewership rating of over 7% since last year. Soon, won't it exceed 10%?" and laughed. Hyo-jung congratulated him, saying, "Everything you said is coming true! You won the Rookie Award and the viewership is over 7%."
He called his mother to share the news, and she responded, "'Salim Nam' family will all come, right? I'll prepare as much as I can. I'll even boil octopus~"
Seo-jin expressed his ambition, saying, "This time, we have to go all over the country for the busking." He attempted to invite Lee Chan-won as a guest singer for the busking. Seo-jin showed a somewhat awkward demeanor, asking, "Is this our first time calling?" but Chan-won joyfully replied, "We've talked a lot on the phone and texted~ First of all, congratulations! And I heard you got the highest viewership rating of over 9%? I watch 'Salim Nam' regularly! Sing for me once~"
Chan-won expressed gratitude, saying, "There was something I was really thankful to you for, do you remember? My maternal family is from Sangju, Gyeongsangbuk-do. We had overlapping events in Sangju, and my grandmother really likes you. When she heard that, you brought her health supplements. It left a strong impression on me."
Park Seo-jin recalled, "On a rainy day, Chan-won's grandmother came to see me and sat in the audience. Since it was raining, I prepared some red ginseng for her to prevent catching a cold."
After hanging up, when guests arrived, Park Seo-jin welcomed them while Hyo-jung hid in the room, saying not to look for her. At that moment, singers Song Min-jun and Choi Soo-ho visited, and they asked, "Where did Hyo-jung go? I came to see her more than you."
While exploring the room, they discovered Hyo-jung inside a tanning booth, and the three shyly greeted each other.
Later, Seo-jin continued cooking with Song Min-jun and Choi Soo-ho, but he didn't know where the seasonings were, so eventually, Hyo-jung had to step in.
While cooking, Choi Soo-ho said, "I wish I had a younger sister like Hyo-jung," showing affection for her.
During the meal, he complimented, "Someone who cooks well is really attractive," to which Song Min-jun suspiciously asked, "But are you subtly flirting with Hyo-jung?"
In response, Choi Soo-ho said, "She's cute. How can Hyo-jung look so pretty even without makeup?" but realizing he was younger than her, he politely apologized.
As the second Salim Nam, Song Baek-kyung from YG's One Time appeared. He shared, "I really wanted to be a singer, but there was an atmosphere where no one recognized me. My school teachers and parents were very opposed, so I often ran away from home. It was really tough, so I returned home, stopped going to school, delivered newspapers, worked part-time at a gas station and a pizza place, and practiced composing on my own whenever I could."
He continued, "After meeting Hyun-seok, I went to the practice room to practice... I happened to meet Yang Hyun-suk, but I guess he wasn't impressed with me. I kept failing auditions. So, I grabbed Yang Hyun-suk's pants and tried to get his attention. I cleaned the mirrors in the practice room and focused on composing dance songs, then switched to hip-hop, which he liked. Then he said, 'I don't plan to make you a singer, but come out and try,' and that's how I debuted as a singer," reminiscing about the past.
Currently running a store with his mother, when customers came in, he sang songs from his One Time days, and a panelist remarked, "Isn't he promoting himself while saying not to?" with a chuckle.
At 2 AM, after turning off the store lights, his mother began cleaning up. After sending Song Baek-kyung home, she responded to the production team's comment, "Isn't it hard to do it alone?" by saying, "Actually, I put in more effort... But as a mother, I want my son to rest a little. He probably left at 8 AM. I just want him to relax his body quickly. I don't know how long I can help, but let's work hard~ I love you," touching the hearts of those who heard it.
