As large wildfires continue across the country, the episode of ‘Nationwide Singing Contest’ filmed in Ulsan Ulju-gun has been canceled.
KBS announced that the KBS1 music program ‘Nationwide Singing Contest - Ulsan Metropolitan City Ulju-gun’, which was scheduled to air at 12:10 PM on the 23rd, has been canceled.
This is due to the fact that a wildfire has been ongoing for over 24 hours since the day before at the filming location in Ulju-gun, leading to evacuation orders for four villages and significant damage.
So far, it has been confirmed that 170 hectares in Ulju-gun have been affected by the wildfire, with 2,331 personnel including special firefighting teams, public officials, police, and firefighters, as well as 12 helicopters, deployed to extinguish the fire. The forestry authorities issued the highest level of wildfire response, Level 3, starting at 9 AM that day.
The episode of ‘Nationwide Singing Contest - Ulsan Metropolitan City Ulju-gun’ is scheduled to air next week, and during that time slot, KBS News Special Report and the current affairs program ‘Companionship’, which aired the previous afternoon, will be substituted.
Nam Hee-seok, the MC of ‘Nationwide Singing Contest’, expressed through social media, “Wildfires are occurring all over the country. Unfortunately, there are those who have lost their lives,” and added, “I sincerely hope it rains.”
