Actor Heo Jun-ho is receiving rave reviews for his outstanding performance as a villain.

In the SBS Friday-Saturday drama ‘Treasure Island’ (written by Lee Myung-hee, directed by Jin Chang-kyu), Heo Jun-ho plays the role of the behind-the-scenes power player ‘Yeom Jang-seon’, heightening the tension with his chilling performances each episode, as well as creating unforgettable scenes with his ruthless pursuit of money and power. Here, we take a look at the moments where Heo Jun-ho ignited the drama with his terrifying aura.

#Episode 6 (Cruel Schemes)

In the drama, Heo Jun-ho displayed a brutal side, willing to sacrifice anyone for his own benefit. In the sixth episode, Jang-seon judged Seo Dong-joo's (played by Park Hyung-sik) amnesia to be a lie and ordered the kidnapping of Cheon Gu-ho (played by Joo Yeon-woo), showcasing extreme cruelty by subjecting him to water torture. When Dong-joo refused to reveal the password to his Swiss bank account, he sent Heo Il-do (played by Lee Hae-young) to disguise himself as Dong-joo's savior, creating a chilling atmosphere.

#Episode 8 (The Majesty of Absolute Power)

Jang-seon’s character as an absolute power player was strongly highlighted. When President Lee Cheol-yong (played by Choi Kwang-il) stated, “With just the National Love Fund, I can do the politics I want,” Jang-seon countered with an unwavering gaze and calm voice, saying, “It’s not just me; it’s the politics we want,” asserting his dominance. He further overwhelmed the atmosphere by saying, “You can just come and go in five years, but what about after that?” He did not hesitate to call the president a selfish man, making viewers' hearts race.

#Episode 10 (Vicious Malice)

Jang-seon committed heinous acts even against his own people, inciting public outrage in the living rooms. When things did not go as planned with Dong-joo, he lost his temper and struck Il-do with a nameplate in front of him, shocking everyone. He suppressed his anger, saying, “I made my junior shed blood,” while wiping Il-do’s blood, leaving viewers in disbelief. Following this, Jang-seon ordered measures on how to deal with Dong-joo, showcasing endless malice.

Thus, Heo Jun-ho is completing the character of Yeom Jang-seon with his unique presence. He is proving his exceptional acting skills with his overwhelming aura, cynical expressions, and intense gaze. Attention is now on how Heo Jun-ho will unfold Yeom Jang-seon’s narrative in the latter part of the story amidst the whirlwind of developments.

Meanwhile, ‘Treasure Island’, featuring Heo Jun-ho, Park Hyung-sik, Lee Hae-young, Hong Hwa-yeon, and others, airs every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 PM.
