Comedian Yoon Hyung-bin has shared his thoughts as he closes the small theater he has operated for 15 years.

On the 26th, Yoon Hyung-bin posted on Instagram, "I am Yoon Hyung-bin, the director of Yoon Hyung-bin Small Theater," and said, "I don't know where to start... This week, the only public comedy theater in Korea, Yoon Hyung-bin Small Theater, which I have operated for the past 15 years, will close its doors."

He continued, "Starting in Busan and eventually settling in Hongdae, many people have passed through, and there have been many memories. Initially, I just wanted to make people laugh and perform freely, starting small in Busan. As the audience gradually increased and friends who wanted to learn comedy appeared, I felt a sense of mission to nurture good talent in the comedy scene and create good segments, and I also had the desire to grow it into a good business."

He added, "What started as something enjoyable gradually grew into a larger family, and as expenses increased more than profits, there were more unfortunate and disappointing events than joyful ones. Although I was deeply troubled, during the COVID-19 period when comedians lost their place and stages, I felt I couldn't close this small stage, no matter how difficult it became."

Yoon Hyung-bin expressed, "I am truly grateful that KBS's Kim Sang-mi CP, after a year of hard work, relaunched 'Gag Concert'... I feel that now there is another small foundation for comedians to rise again. My fellow colleagues who performed with me are all contributing to 'Gag Concert'... Seeing the gradually increasing audience makes me feel relieved that there are many people interested in comedy and comedians."

He also said, "Perhaps... I think this is the most appropriate time," and added, "Maybe... I, who lack ability, have been blocking the way for no reason, and perhaps the comedy scene could have improved faster without my unnecessary interference. For 15 years, I have been on stage every week in my 30s and 40s. Still, it was truly enjoyable. The reason I could spend every week joyfully without realizing time passed was because of Yoon So, the audience, and comedy."

Finally, he stated, "Now, although I am nervous... I am about to embark on a new journey that is different from before. It will be unfamiliar, but just like when I, who knew nothing, opened the door and established myself after many twists and turns, I will walk this new path well. Thank you so much for loving Yoon Hyung-bin Small Theater. I had a great time."
