A problematic new recruit and an unprecedented villain appear before 'military spoon' Kim Min-ho, who is on the verge of becoming a corporal.

The original Genie TV drama ‘Shinbyung3’ (written by Yoon Gi-young and Kang Go-eun, directed by Min Jin-ki and Jo Je-wook), which will premiere on April 7 at 10 PM, has released stills capturing a day in the extraordinary Shinwa unit.

Returning with high expectations, ‘Shinbyung3’ depicts the heightened military life of Park Min-seok (played by Kim Min-ho), who is tangled up before his promotion to corporal, as two unpredictable new recruits join and an unprecedented villain makes a comeback, causing a crisis in the Shinwa unit. The ‘Shinbyungz’ Kim Min-ho, Nam Tae-woo, Lee Sang-jin, Jo Jin-se, Lee Chung-gu, Kim Hyun-kyu, Lee Jeong-hyeon, Jeon Seung-hoon, and Lee Soo-ji will once again hard carry with their evolved military life cheat codes, as their experience grows. Above all, the collaboration between director Min Jin-ki, who broke down the barriers between drama and entertainment, and comedy master writer Yoon Gi-young stimulates the expectations of drama fans.

In the released photos, the unusual daylight disinfection scene of the Shinwa unit is captured. While everyone is busy shaking out their blankets, Park Min-seok is seen alone, raising his thumb and showing unexpected cuteness. There seems to be a subtle ‘experience’ of a private emanating from him. On another side, squad leader Oh Seok-jin (played by Lee Sang-jin) proudly demonstrates his strictness while shaking out blankets. However, the still clumsy Oh Seok-jin is seen nestled in the solid embrace of Im Da-hye (played by Jeon Seung-hoon). The faces of Choi Il-goo (played by Nam Tae-woo) and Kim Sang-hoon (played by Lee Chung-gu), who are watching this exciting bromance, are filled with an inexplicable smile. The details of this unnecessary love line are intriguing.

The subsequent photos of the changed daily life of the ‘Shinbyungz’ also spark curiosity. The first to catch the eye is Choi Il-goo, who has become the cook ahead of his discharge. His gentle smile while hugging a flower pot is almost unfamiliar. Park Min-joo (played by Lee Soo-ji), who still exudes charisma, also draws attention. Park Min-joo is expected to return with a powerful presence that surpasses the special instructor from ‘Shinbyung2’.

The ‘new faces’ also reveal their extraordinary presence. Jeon Se-gye (played by Kim Dong-jun), who has a different drawing style, is dazzling the unit members with his charming smile. In contrast, the contrasting presence of Moon Bit-na-ri (played by Kim Yo-han), who gives off a vibe of being a useless recruit, is particularly interesting. Meanwhile, company commander Jo Baek-ho (played by Oh Dae-hwan) is seen with honey dripping from his eyes even as he receives a salute from a soldier. Among them, a familiar face catches the eye: the villain from season 1, Seong Yoon-mo (played by Kim Hyun-kyu). His hands clasped tightly in a tearful repentance(?) leave viewers bewildered. His comeback was hinted at in the previously released teaser video, raising curiosity about what events will unfold in the Shinwa unit, which is never at peace.

Kim Min-ho returns as ‘Park Min-seok’, a military spoon on the verge of becoming a corporal. He is expected to suffer from the heightened difficulty of military life as he faces the ‘national spoon’ new recruit Jeon Se-gye and the new recruit Moon Bit-na-ri, who reminds him of his useless days. Nam Tae-woo continues to play ‘Choi Il-goo’, who, even as a final-year private, is never at peace, while Lee Sang-jin takes on the role of the awkward yet warm squad leader ‘Oh Seok-jin’, ensuring realism. Lee Chung-gu shines again as the ace ‘Kim Sang-hoon’ of the first squad, who has become a squad leader. Kim Hyun-kyu, who played the villain ‘Seong Yoon-mo’ in season 1, and Jeon Seung-hoon, who plays the poker-faced private ‘Im Da-hye’ and is Park Min-seok’s senior, also return, adding to the excitement. Additionally, Lee Soo-ji plays Park Min-seok’s older sister and the strong-willed special instructor ‘Park Min-joo’.

The performances of Kim Dong-jun, Oh Dae-hwan, and Kim Yo-han are also highly anticipated. Kim Dong-jun, a global star from a child actor background, plays the new recruit ‘Jeon Se-gye’, who excels in looks, personality, and sense. Oh Dae-hwan portrays the love-filled and surprising company commander ‘Jo Baek-ho’, newly assigned to the second company. Kim Yo-han transforms into the unusual useless recruit ‘Moon Bit-na-ri’, who reminds us of Park Min-seok’s recruit days with his timid personality and poor physical condition, showcasing his unique acting.

The production team of ‘Shinbyung3’ stated, “As time passes, the relationships and personalities of the characters change little by little. What remains unchanged is the individuality of the characters. The daily lives created by the ‘Shinbyungz’, who are anything but ordinary, will undoubtedly provide empathy and laughter,” adding, “With two new recruits who are too different and the reappearance of an unprecedented villain, we hope you look forward to a more dynamic season 3.”

Meanwhile, the original Genie TV drama ‘Shinbyung3’ will premiere on April 7 at 10 PM on channel ENA, and will be exclusively available for free VOD on KT Genie TV immediately after the main broadcast every Monday and Tuesday at 10 PM. It can be watched on OTT platforms like Tving.
