On the 26th, Park Jung-eun and Chef Park Jung-hyun, who operate the fine dining Korean restaurant Atomic in New York, appeared as guests on tvN’s ‘You Quiz on the Block’.
On that day, Yoo Jae-suk asked, “In the U.S., Korean food is considered very hip, and if you don’t know Korean food, it feels outdated. Is that really the trend?” CEO Park Jung-eun replied, “Ten years ago in New York, when I talked about sea urchin and sushi, I said it was trendy, but these days, if I can make a reservation at a Korean restaurant, that is power.” Yoo Jae-suk was surprised and said, “Is it that serious?”
Chef Park Jung-hyun added, “When you go to a Korean BBQ restaurant, you have to start with sirloin, then have ribs, and finish with cold noodles to be recognized as trendy in New York.” Yoo Jae-suk was once again surprised, saying, “I didn’t know it was to this extent.” Chef Park Jung-hyun further noted, “In the past, people who didn’t know Korean food would often just eat the side dishes when they came out, but these days, people who know Korean food teach others.”
