In ‘Good Day’, everyone gathers as the general meeting finally begins. After a week off, there is curiosity about whether the controversial footage of Kim Soo-hyun has been completely removed.
The 6th episode of MBC's entertainment program ‘Good Day’ (directed by Kim Tae-ho, produced by TEO) will air on the 30th at 9:10 PM, showcasing the members of Good Day finally coming together around G-Dragon. The meeting will feature support from Jung Hyung-don, Defconn, Code Kunst, and Jo Se-ho, who have all contributed in various ways for G-Dragon, along with all the guests participating in the project.
The Good Day general meeting will proceed with a meal, followed by a personal item auction and the unveiling of a group song. The meeting will include the reliable eldest brother Hwang Jung-min, peers born in 1988, G-Dragon's fan Kian84, Hong Jin-kyung, Kim Go-eun from the Good Day sub-group Hanam-dong Family, Chef Ahn Seong-jae who will be a key player in ‘Good Day’, and the Seventeen unit BSS and aespa, who will shine brightly in 2024, along with G-Dragon's secret weapon CL, all filling the space. As this Avengers-level gathering takes place for the first time, comments like “You’ve really made a big deal out of this, haven’t you?” are expected to highlight the scale of the project.
Kim Soo-hyun participated in the recording that took place before the controversy escalated. However, as personal controversy surrounding Kim Soo-hyun arose, viewers voiced that he should step down, leading ‘Good Day’ to cancel the broadcast on the 23rd to edit his segments.
‘Good Day’ is not only aired on MBC but is also supplied to global OTT and other overseas platforms. Generally, programs that are globally serviced must be delivered 1-3 weeks before airing for subtitling, dubbing, and screen narration work. If modifications are made after delivery, penalties such as breach of contract may occur, making editing difficult. Moreover, if an entire person needs to be removed rather than just a few scenes, the flow of the story changes, requiring edits to all parts where that person appears. This editing difficulty increases significantly for characters like Kim Soo-hyun, who are central to the program.
Due to time constraints, some of Kim Soo-hyun's appearances were edited out in the broadcast on the 16th, but parts that were not fully removed aired, leading to viewer criticism. In response, on the 17th, the production team stated, “We recognize the seriousness of the controversy surrounding the ‘Good Day’ participants and are continuing production while prioritizing viewer reactions,” and added, “The production team has decided to edit out as much of Kim Soo-hyun's appearance as possible. The individual recording process of the said participant will not be aired on March 13.”
As the show returns after a week off, there is curiosity about whether all of Kim Soo-hyun's scenes have been deleted and if the promises made to viewers have been kept.
