In the latest episode of ‘Let's Go Season 4’, singers Kim Jong-hwan and Jeong Dong-won shared heartwarming stories.

On the 30th, the 8th episode of MBN’s ‘Let's Go Season 4’ featured Kim Jong-hwan, who created the songs ‘For Love’ and ‘Reason for Existence’, as well as ‘Hope’ and ‘Blank’, which became popular when sung by Im Young-woong and Jeong Dong-won on a trot audition program. Additionally, Jeong Dong-won, who has a special connection with Kim Jong-hwan, appeared as a special MC, creating a warm atmosphere.

MCs Ahn Jung-hwan and Hong Hyun-hee asked the special MC Jeong Dong-won, “Where is your house?” to which Jeong Dong-won replied, “It’s in Hapjeong-dong, Mapo-gu.” When the MCs inquired if he bought it without a loan, knowing that Jeong Dong-won is a neighbor to Im Young-woong, he candidly responded, “I bought it without a loan. The price was reasonable at the time. It was reported that I bought it for around 2 billion won.” He also mentioned, “I moved to a nearby place when I entered art high school.”

The MCs brought up the special connection between Jeong Dong-won and Kim Jong-hwan, asking, “Did you request the song ‘Blank’, or did the teacher give it to you?” Jeong Dong-won explained, “During the finals of the trot audition, there were various songs, but I chose ‘Blank’,” adding, “These days, many singers are lining up to get songs from composers.”

The MCs, who went to Kim Jong-hwan's house with Jeong Dong-won, were amazed by the studio filled with rare items, including a signed Beatles frame and a piano used by ABBA. They asked Jeong Dong-won, “Is there anything you desire the most?” and he replied, “If I had to choose one, it would be the frame signed by the Beatles.”

In response, the MCs asked Kim Jong-hwan, “Can you give it to Jeong Dong-won?” but Kim Jong-hwan firmly refused, saying, “No, that would be a big problem,” and when asked if he would give it to his granddaughter, he coldly replied, “What does my granddaughter have to do with it? Even if I give it to her, she wouldn’t know who the Beatles are,” surprising everyone.

After touring the house, the MCs asked Kim Jong-hwan, “Why did you choose Jeong Dong-won for the song ‘Blank’? I wonder if Dong-won understood the meaning of the lyrics when he sang it.” Kim Jong-hwan replied, “I didn’t think Dong-won would sing this song. He chose it himself.” Jeong Dong-won added, “I just felt like ‘I want to do this.’ I thought, ‘I should do it before it gets taken away,’ so as soon as it was my turn, I brought ‘Blank’.”

Kim Jong-hwan shared, “Honestly, I thought he was a bit too young to sing this song. But after hearing his voice, I thought, ‘You can grow up like Michael Jackson.’ When Dong-won becomes an adult, the feeling of the song will change. I had created the song ‘Hope’ for Na Sa-yeon, but when I looked at it, Na Sa-yeon was too young, and the lyrics didn’t match. So I thought, ‘I can’t give it to her now,’ and I kept it for 10 years.”

The MCs mentioned, “Wasn’t the song ‘Hope’ also popular because Im Young-woong sang it?” and Kim Jong-hwan praised, “Im Young-woong sings well. His voice is clean, well-polished, and not rough, so it suited the song well.” He also expressed his warm feelings as a senior towards his juniors, saying, “I sang a song that gives strength and a message of support to many people, and I’m happy and grateful that it turned out well.”
