Actress Choi Yeo-jin has confronted the affair allegations surrounding her directly.
In the episode aired on the 31st, SBS ‘Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 - You Are My Destiny’ depicted the daily life of Choi Yeo-jin and her fiancé Kim Jae-wook.
On this day, Choi Yeo-jin appeared nervous about her joint appearance with Kim Jae-wook. She said, “I’ve been in broadcasting for 20 years, but this atmosphere is new to me. It feels as tense as a meeting of families.”
Introducing Kim Jae-wook, Choi Yeo-jin stated, “I’ve never had a crush before. I used to have high standards for my ideal type, but after meeting Kim Jae-wook, I realized that there are both external and internal ideal types. Our sense of humor is very similar, and living together, I see that he is very diligent and warm-hearted.”
She continued, “He always thinks of me more than himself. He acts and speaks in ways that are for me rather than himself. Seeing that made me feel, ‘He really loves me.’”
Choi Yeo-jin directly refuted the misunderstanding that their relationship is an affair. She drew attention by video calling Kim Jae-wook's ex-wife. The ex-wife emphasized, “He started dating me after our divorce, so why are there so many rumors? I’m a witness, and I say it’s not true, yet there are still many rumors. I support them.”
Kim Jae-wook explained, “I got married to my ex-wife in 2016. About six months later, we realized we were going in different directions. We started living separately from 2017. Even after our divorce, we didn’t tell people around us because we didn’t want to upset our parents.” He mentioned that while they worked together, their marriage was concluded. He added, “I know it’s hard to understand, but we parted on good terms. Since we were going in different directions, we remained supportive of each other.”
Choi Yeo-jin stated, “It hasn’t been long since we developed into a romantic relationship. To be precise, we met after he got divorced. I hope people understand that we haven’t done anything that could lead to misunderstandings.”
She continued, “I feel most sorry for the ex-wife. I think it will be noisy because of me, and it shouldn’t have to be visible. I expected these kinds of stories to come out. I thought that people who don’t know us would easily form prejudices.” She became emotional.
She added, “If I had approached this with impure intentions from the beginning, I wouldn’t have acted like this on the show. So even if misunderstandings arise, I thought I could overcome them, but hearing them actually hurts. The ones I feel most sorry for are Kim Jae-wook and his ex-wife. How can I change people’s thoughts? I just hope that, being an ordinary person, I can be protected.”
