Actors Gong Myung and Kim Min Ha are reaching out to viewers with the youth fantasy romance 'One Week Before I Die'.
On the morning of the 1st, a production presentation for the Tving original series 'One Week Before I Die' was held at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall in Yongsan, Seoul. Director Kim Hye Young, actors Gong Myung, Kim Min Ha, Jung Gun Joo, and Oh Woo Ri attended.
'One Week Before I Die' is a youth fantasy romance where the first love, Ram Woo (played by Gong Myung), appears as a grim reaper before Hee Wan (played by Kim Min Ha), who has been letting her youth slip away while turning her back on the world. It is based on the novel of the same name by author Seo Eun Chae.
Gong Myung plays 'Ram Woo', who reappears as a grim reaper before his first love.
After returning to drama for the first time in four years, Gong Myung said, "When I first read the script, it felt so fresh, and the poignant and lyrical atmosphere made my heart feel soft. It made me think that I really wanted to do this project," adding, "Since this is my comeback project after military service, I feel a pleasant excitement about being able to return after four years."
He continued, "Ram Woo's school days are introverted, and I was also very introverted during my school days. That part was very similar. After becoming a grim reaper, he actively leads Hee Wan, and I think that is similar to the current Gong Myung who has gone through school days, so I could empathize and immerse myself more."
Many actors, including Lee Dong Wook from 'Goblin', have played the role of a grim reaper. Gong Myung said, "Many seniors have acted in this role, and I prepared while referencing them," adding, "There are aspects that are different from previous grim reapers, so I tried to study that part while studying the script."
Kim Min Ha plays 'Hee Wan', who changes the quiet and introverted Ram Woo.
Kim Min Ha said, "When I first received the script, it was a story I had wanted to tell for a long time. I was very happy to meet the script while thinking about the meaning of longing, the meaning of those left behind, and how someone lives with guilt for a long time. I wanted to unfold it solidly. Also, people around me told me to wear a school uniform while I could. I was worried about that, but when I actually tried on the school uniform, it felt like I was getting younger, and I received good energy."
She added, "There are very bright and dark parts within me. I had a lot of thoughts about how to naturally express Hee Wan, but I actually empathized a lot. Hee Wan cannot hide her feelings when she likes someone, and I think that part is very similar. So it was even more fun."

Jung Gun Joo plays 'Lee Hong Seok', Ram Woo's best friend who is passionate about board games.
Jung Gun Joo said, "I wanted to wear a school uniform before it was too late. I participated in the project through an audition. The lyrical charm resonated with me greatly, and I approached the audition with the desire to do well, and eventually participated."
He continued, "There are friends who love sports and are optimistic during school days, and that part was very similar. A friend who was my close friend in school actually has a personality similar to Ram Woo, so I thought a lot about that friend," adding, "I didn't like board games, but I found it very fun while playing."
Oh Woo Ri was cast as 'Yoon Tae Kyung', a cheerful soulmate who matches well with the lively 'Jung Hee Wan' and is a cute foodie friend.
Oh Woo Ri said, "I participated through an audition. It was full of the unique freshness and loveliness of school days. I thought I would be happy to be part of this project."
She added, "It's like a friend you find in every class, and I think the style of dressing comfortably is similar. On the other hand, I was the one who got hit rather than shielding."
Director Kim Hye Young said, "It is a work with very diverse emotions. The front part can be seen cutely and freshly, while the latter part can be appreciated with a poignant and heavy heart."
The Tving original series 'One Week Before I Die' consists of a total of 6 episodes, with episodes 1 and 2 set to be released on Thursday, the 3rd, on Tving.
