Actress Park Han-byul broke down in tears as she explained the reason for protecting her family despite the numerous suggestions for divorce, stating, "I made the best choice for my child as a mother."

On the broadcast of TV Chosun's 'Dad and Me' on the 1st, Park Han-byul, who returned to the screen after a six-year hiatus, appeared alongside her father, a former soccer coach. They shared stories about their daily life in Jeju Island, where they have been living together away from the mainland, as well as the difficult times they endured over the past six years. The show was hosted by MC Jeon Hyun-moo, along with Lee Seung-yeon, Su-bin, Lee Geon-joo, and Lim Hyun-sik.

Park Han-byul's father, who couldn't even bring himself to speak for fear of hurting his daughter, expressed his feelings by saying, "It feels like coming out of a long tunnel." He recalled the painful days, stating, "I didn't feel sleepy even after not sleeping for days, and I didn't want to eat. I wandered around the mountain behind the house like a madman at 2 or 3 in the morning." Park Han-byul remembered, "My dad was really struggling. He would drink every night and call me just to sigh deeply. Even without saying a word, I could feel his pain through his breathing."

Park Han-byul also shared that in 2019, all her advertisements and casting opportunities fell through, and strangers would come to her home where she was alone with her child, saying, "Every day felt like hell." Despite the flood of suggestions for divorce from those around her, she said, "The child did nothing wrong, so I couldn't take the family away. I made the best choice as a mother," as she shed the tears she had been holding back. She continued, "The reason I prioritized my family is that even if the children don't realize it now, they will definitely feel it when they grow up." Lee Seung-yeon deeply resonated with Park Han-byul's story, saying, "The thoughts that come to mind while giving birth and raising a child seem to be similar. I think the role of a mother is to live well and show that."

Finally, Park Han-byul mentioned that she doesn't have many memories from the 2-3 years following the incident, saying, "It was such a painful experience that my brain seems to have erased it." She added, "After recalling it through the broadcast after a long time, I couldn't hold back my tears."
