Lawyer Yang Na-rae recently talked about the increasing number of newlywed divorces.
On the broadcast of MBC's 'Radio Star' on the 2nd, Kwon Il-yong, Lee Dae-woo, Yang Na-rae, and Dean Dean appeared as guests.
That day, Yang Na-rae said, "According to statistical data, the divorce rate has decreased, but I feel that divorces are actually increasing. Usually, statistical data is based on legal marriages. However, these days, many couples have a wedding but do not register their marriage and end up divorcing in a short period. Therefore, I feel that there are more divorces among young couples compared to the past."
She continued, "Since they don't register their marriage, the divorce itself is easy. However, in cases of short-term marriages, both parties have very negative feelings towards each other. They want to prove to the court that they are divorcing because of the other person. They say, 'Return the money I spent. Since I'm divorcing because of you, you should pay alimony.'
She added, "Lawyers often say, 'Claiming 30 million won in alimony is more intense than dividing 3 billion won in assets.' They say, 'It doesn't matter how much the alimony is. It must be received unconditionally.'
Meanwhile, 'Radio Star' airs every Wednesday at 10:30 PM.
