In ‘Solo Because’, Lee Soo-kyung is expected to bring laughter through her experience of solo parenting.
On the upcoming broadcast of the jointly produced variety show ‘Solo Because’ on SBS Plus and E Channel on the 8th, Lee Soo-kyung will spend a day experiencing real parenting by taking care of her close friend’s triplet children.
On that day, Lee Soo-kyung says, “Today, a very special guest is coming,” and begins preparing for the visit. Shortly after, a friend of Lee Soo-kyung surprises her with identical triplets, to which she reveals, “A close sister told me, ‘Children are a blessing. Just try being with them once,’ so I thought, ‘Okay, I’ll see how wonderful it is.’”
The joy of meeting the three children is short-lived as Lee Soo-kyung finds herself sweating over the kids' dirty diapers. In an urgent attempt to handle the situation, she panics when she realizes, “The poop leaked,” and ultimately makes the mistake of putting the ‘poop-stained pants’ directly into the washing machine. Amidst the ‘washing machine disaster’, Lee Soo-kyung makes everyone laugh with her expression, saying, “I think I know what the kids ate.”
Meanwhile, responding to Lee Soo-kyung’s SOS, ‘experienced’ Oh Yoon-ah makes a dramatic entrance. Oh Yoon-ah not only skillfully calms the crying children but also captures their attention with toys, showcasing her ‘parenting master’ skills. Lee Soo-kyung praises her, saying, “You are my savior!”
After the ‘chaotic solo parenting’, the two order delivery food and enjoy a delicious ‘post-parenting meal’. While happily eating, Lee Soo-kyung recalls her first meeting with Oh Yoon-ah and shares her struggles due to rumors from that time.
She reveals, “People came with strange stories after hearing absurd rumors from somewhere,” and continues, “One day, a friend called me mentioning a man’s name I had never heard of, claiming I was dating him. That still lingers as a trauma.” She adds, “To block out the ridiculous rumors, I avoided meeting people altogether.”
Oh Yoon-ah also shares, “I had a similar experience during my rookie days,” saying, “Being a former racing model, there were people who had preconceived notions about me. That’s why I built walls around myself. I even wore turtlenecks in the middle of summer to avoid exposure.”
As the two engage in an honest conversation, MCs Shin Dong-yeop and Hwang Jung-eum empathize. Lee Soo-kyung suddenly asks Oh Yoon-ah, “If I were to have a child, would I be able to do well?” He also mentions, “I’ve thought about marriage and even adoption,” surprising everyone. It raises curiosity about whether Lee Soo-kyung’s thoughts on having children changed after that day’s ‘solo parenting’ and how he responded to the production team’s question about considering egg freezing.
