‘Dae Hwan Jang Gi An Jang’ PD Jung Hyo-min revealed behind-the-scenes details of the production.
On the morning of the 8th, a production presentation for Netflix's entertainment program ‘Dae Hwan Jang Gi An Jang’ Part 1 ‘Early Check-in’ was held at Community House Masil in Jung-gu, Seoul. PD Jung Hyo-min, PD Lee So-min, and PD Hwang Yoon-seo attended.
‘Dae Hwan Jang Gi An Jang’ is a new concept variety show where Gi An 84, Jin, and Ji Ye-eun engage in extraordinary activities with guests at a guesthouse on Ulleungdo, flowing with Gi An's unique thoughts. PD Jung Hyo-min from ‘Hyori’s Homestay’, writer Yoon Shin-hye, and Gi An 84 have teamed up.
How did ‘Dae Hwan Jang Gi An Jang’ come to be made?
PD Jung Hyo-min opened up by saying, “After ‘Hyori’s Homestay’, I have been thinking about what we could do if we were to create a guesthouse variety show in a modern version. Since we worked with a remarkable and special figure like Lee Hyori in ‘Hyori’s Homestay’, I kept wondering if it would be possible to make it more fun than ‘Hyori’s Homestay’ with any main cast member.”
He continued, “The initial planning for this program was before Gi An 84 received the entertainment award. I thought, ‘Can Gi An 84 do it?’ I felt that with Gi An 84, the program would flow in a different direction and path compared to existing guesthouse programs. At that time, Gi An 84's challenge to marathon running was a hot topic, and I felt that it wasn’t just about being extraordinary and special, but there was also a sense of responsibility. I thought we could create a happy entertainment show in the end.”
‘Dae Hwan Jang Gi An Jang’ will be released with a total of 9 episodes, 3 episodes each week, starting from the 8th.
