Actress Lee Yo-won revealed the reason for her early marriage.
On the 8th, Lee Yo-won appeared as a guest on SBS’s ‘Take Off Your Shoes and Dolsing Po Man’ (hereinafter ‘Dolsing Po Man’).
On that day, Lee Yo-won drew attention by saying, “I got married in January of the year I turned 24.” The members of ‘Dolsing Po Man’ were surprised, saying, “You got married at the peak of your career,” and “That’s crazy.”
When Tak Jae-hoon asked, “Why did you get married so early?” Lee Yo-won replied, “I wonder why. I didn’t even think about getting married. Whether you marry or not, you will regret it.” However, she added, “I think having a child was really a good decision.”
Lee Yo-won said, “I didn’t want to get married early. But I debuted when I was young. I think I was hurt a lot by people and got tired of it. That’s when I met my husband and naturally ended up getting married.”
She continued, “My husband was the one who suggested we date first. He said, ‘I don’t have any female friends or sisters. If it’s not a definite relationship, I want to end it. Please tell me clearly.’ When I asked for time to think, he asked how long I needed. I thought of a week. We met every day for a week, and I think that’s when we grew close.”
Regarding the reason she decided to marry, Lee Yo-won said, “While dating, we kept talking about our future. He appealed that he wanted a family rather than ambition.” Lee Sang-min admired, “You must have been in your late 20s at that time, that’s very mature.”
Lee Yo-won surprised the members of ‘Dolsing Po Man’ by saying that she was the pioneer of private celebrity weddings. Despite it being a private wedding, there were enthusiastic requests for coverage, and she had a photo time after the wedding. Lee Yo-won said, “My husband is a non-celebrity, so he didn’t want a public wedding.” She added, “I don’t like my life being exposed.”
