Director Shin Won-ho of 'Someday, Wise Resident Life' shared his thoughts on the criticism of the work.
On the afternoon of the 10th, the production presentation for tvN's new weekend drama 'Someday, Wise Resident Life' (Creators Shin Won-ho, Lee Woo-jung / Director Lee Min-soo / Screenwriter Kim Song-hee / Planning CJ ENM Studios / Production Egg is Coming) was held in Guro-gu, Seoul. Creator Shin Won-ho, Director Lee Min-soo, and actors Go Yoon-jung, Cynthia, Kang Yoo-seok, Han Ye-ji, and Jung Joon-won attended.
'Someday, Wise Resident Life' is a spin-off drama of 'Wise Doctor Life' that depicts the growth process of residents dreaming of a wise medical life, going through a period of denial. Director Shin Won-ho and writer Lee Woo-jung, who directed 'Wise Doctor Life', participate as creators.
Originally scheduled to air in May last year as a follow-up to 'Queen of Tears', promotional activities were conducted with teasers released in March. However, due to the strike and mass resignation of residents, public backlash against medical staff grew, and negative public opinion about the medical field formed, leading to an indefinite postponement of the schedule. After about a year, it is finally being presented to viewers.
Creator Shin Won-ho explained, "There is an image that we are capturing a lot of reality, so I am receiving questions about it not matching reality. We are a team that creates fictional stories that seem plausible in reality and fills the details with realism. Drama is about creating fictional stories. Many people call it fantasy, but we are a team trying to depict what many people want. It would be nice if that leads to good results; what it is called is not important. We produced the work containing what we wanted."
The new weekend drama 'Someday, Wise Resident Life' will premiere on Saturday, the 12th, at 9:10 PM.
