Actor Park Hae-jun mentioned Park Bo-gum and IU, with whom he worked on ‘Bokssak Sogassuda’.
On the 16th, Park Hae-jun appeared as a guest on tvN’s ‘You Quiz on the Block’.
On this day, Park Hae-jun expressed his excitement about the popularity of Netflix’s ‘Bokssak Sogassuda’, saying, “I’m feeling so elated because everyone loves it. I’m trying to calm this feeling down, but I can’t help it. My heart is still lingering there.”
Park Hae-jun said, “After ‘Bokssak Sogassuda’ came out, the representative I work with was so happy, saying, ‘Now ‘Sappajwa’ (It’s not a crime to fall in love) is forgotten,’ which made me laugh. He continued, “The reactions from people I meet are a bit different now. Back then, they would come because they liked it, but they didn’t come with such big smiles. But now they come with teary eyes.”
When asked which character he felt closer to between Yang Kwan-sik and Hak-ssi (played by Choi Dae-hoon), Park Hae-jun replied, “If I had to choose, I would say I’m closer to Yang Kwan-sik.” He added, “When I asked my wife, ‘How am I as a father?’ she said, ‘You have a lot in common with Yang Kwan-sik,’ which caught attention.”
Meanwhile, Park Hae-jun mentioned Park Bo-gum and IU, with whom he worked on ‘Bokssak Sogassuda’. When Yoo Jae-suk asked, “Young Yang Kwan-sik was played by Park Bo-gum. How did you feel when you heard you would be playing middle-aged Yang Kwan-sik?” Park Hae-jun said, “I felt some pressure. I was worried, ‘What if people are disappointed seeing me age?’ But while watching the drama, I thought, ‘Park Bo-gum saved me.’ I’m so glad that he acted in a way that made me memorable.”
Additionally, Park Hae-jun shared that he was invited to IU’s concert and attended a concert for the first time in about 20 years, saying, “It was on a different level. It felt like being at the Olympic opening ceremony. Singing for 3-4 hours until midnight, it didn’t seem like energy a person could have.”
He continued, “For a while, I didn’t see her as a daughter. When I went to greet her in the dressing room, she looked so drained and thin. My heart ached so much. I thought it would be better if she stopped.”
Park Hae-jun shared, “Since ‘My Mister’, IU has been sending me holiday gifts. She sends me tangerine syrup, Korean beef during holidays, and ginseng.”
He added, “She sends me many gifts every holiday. I don’t really know what to buy her as a gift. If I just say what I want, she will send it right away. I should tell her what I want,” leaving a warm video message.
