SBS will replace the weekend '8 News' anchor with reporter Lee Hyun-young starting from the 19th.

Following anchor Jung Yu-mi, who is also a former reporter, SBS has once again selected Lee Hyun-young, a member of the MZ generation with extensive field reporting and broadcasting experience, as the sole anchor for weekend '8 News'.

Anchor Lee Hyun-young, who joined in 2016, is a '10-year veteran reporter' who has worked in major departments such as the social affairs, political, and investigative reporting departments, and has received several awards including the 'Broadcast Journalist of the Year' and 'Reporter of the Month'.

Anchor Lee Hyun-young stated, "I am well aware of how thoroughly my fellow reporters verify facts before releasing articles and how much thought goes into capturing the essence within the articles," adding, "I want to contribute to ensuring that viewers can fully feel that effort."

She continued, "I often meet various people in the field and have many observations and feelings, and I will continue to think and strive to blend those experiences naturally into the news."

The sports news for weekday 'SBS 8 News' will also see a new face. Starting from the 28th, anchor Kim Sun-jae will take over the sports news from anchor Kim Da-young, who will conclude her tenure with the last broadcast on the 25th.

Anchor Kim Sun-jae, who joined in 2015, has showcased her proficient hosting skills on programs such as 'Saturday Morning Wide', 'Live Today', and 'Man in the Black Box'.

Anchor Kim expressed her thoughts on being selected for sports news, saying, "Since this is my first time in sports news, I will approach it with the mindset of returning to my roots to learn and study."

She added, "I have recently started learning tennis, and I feel that I have come to appreciate the charm and power of sports even more by experiencing it myself. I will deliver sports news more vividly and dynamically, especially during the evening time."
