'That Which I Want to Know' will cover the mystery of the drugged beverage death in Asan.

On the 19th, SBS's current affairs program 'That Which I Want to Know' will investigate the truth behind the nurse aide's drug-related death that occurred in Asan, Chungnam.

Sudden Death and Shocking Cause

On May 30th last year, around 11:21 AM, a call was received by 119. The caller reported that his ex-girlfriend, who had come to his house after 4 AM that day, was unresponsive when she woke up. The deceased woman was 24-year-old nurse aide, the late Park Ji-in. She had no known health issues, and there were no visible injuries that could explain her sudden death.

About 20 days later, a shocking autopsy result was released. The cause of death was determined to be an overdose of methamphetamine (Philopon). The ex-boyfriend, Mr. A, claimed during police questioning that Ji-in had shown curiosity about the drugs he had at home and had mixed it into a beverage herself. He stated that after Ji-in took a bath, they both went to sleep, and when he woke up, she was dead.

Did She Consume It Herself? vs. Did He Secretly Drug Her?

"Isn't she a nurse aide with medical knowledge? How could she consume something so dangerous and die?" - Mother of the late Park Ji-in

The family argues that Ji-in, who was far removed from drugs and had received safety training for medications as a nurse aide, could not have consumed the drugs herself. Friends also doubt that Ji-in, who was never late for work, would have done so before her shift the next day, suspecting that Mr. A secretly gave her a drugged drink while she was intoxicated.

On the other hand, Mr. A insists he did not drug her. He claims he coincidentally met Ji-in, whom he had broken up with a year prior, and they went to his house together. He states that after consensual sex, during their conversation, she showed interest in the drugs. He testified that he clearly witnessed Ji-in, who drank the drugged beverage alone, taking a bath and then going to sleep without any issues.

Twists and Lies! What is the Truth of That Day?

"Mr. A drugged the beverage and gave it to her, and he put her in and out of the bathtub." - Informant

An informant contacted 'That Which I Want to Know', stating that an inmate in the same prison heard Mr. A say he put the victim in and out of the bathtub. If this is true, it contradicts Mr. A's claim that Ji-in went to take a bath on her own. If he really did put Ji-in in a tub filled with water, what was his reason?

Meanwhile, Ji-in had symmetrical circular wounds about 2.5 cm in diameter on the soles of both feet, suggesting flesh had been burned away. What caused these burn-like injuries? Could they provide a clue to unraveling the mystery of her drug use and death? Why did Ji-in head to Mr. A's house that day, and what led her to consume the drugged beverage?

'That Which I Want to Know' will air on the 19th at 11:10 PM.
