Singer Yoo Hee-yeol shared his feelings about returning after three years following a plagiarism controversy.
On the 18th at 6 PM, Yoo Hee-yeol appeared as a special DJ on MBC FM4U’s ‘Baek Cheol-soo’s Music Camp’.
After the first song played, Yoo Hee-yeol said, “It’s nice to see you. It’s been a really long time since I’ve greeted you. I will be hosting in place of DJ Baek Cheol-soo, who is on vacation, from today until next Monday. I am Yoo Hee-yeol,” introducing himself again.
He continued, “I’ve filled in as a substitute DJ for ‘Baek Camp’ once in 2019 and once in 2016. It’s been six years since I’ve greeted you all. I’m so nervous. I’m shaking to the point where my mind goes blank. I think this is the most nervous I’ve ever been in my life. It feels like my voice is trembling too,” revealing his anxious feelings.
He added, “I’ve developed a habit of carefully choosing my words when I speak. I’ve thought a lot about this moment. I want to express my gratitude to those who are happy to see me and apologize for the awkwardness of greeting everyone after such a long time to those who may feel uncomfortable.”
Yoo Hee-yeol also said, “In the opening, I mentioned, ‘Now I’ve returned and stood in front of the mirror.’ The radio has been like a mirror to me. I think it’s a mirror that perfectly reveals my bare face. There will probably be a lot of time’s marks on it, and the wrinkles from my life will be there, but there will also be a sense of comfort in letting go. Yoo Hee-yeol returned after three years since the plagiarism controversy that arose in June 2022.
