‘What Do You Do When You Play?’ has launched an online filial piety service.
The episode aired on the afternoon of the 19th on MBC's entertainment program ‘What Do You Do When You Play?’ (directed by Kim Jin-yong, Jang Woo-sung, Jang Hyo-jong, Wang Jong-seok, written by Choi Hye-jung) was themed ‘Good Deed Corporation - Online Filial Piety Service’.
In this episode, the members appeared in a concept similar to ‘Infinite Company’. Yoo Jae-suk as the manager, Haha as the section chief, Joo Woo-jae as the assistant, Park Jin-joo as the employee, and Lee Mi-joo as the employee, while Lim Woo-il came in as an intern.
Haha asked, “I’ve heard a lot about intern Lim. Was he popular among the ladies?” To this, Lim Woo-il replied, “At first, I didn’t know, but you’ll find out gradually. I was having lunch with a female junior, and I said, ‘Auntie, can I have a mix coffee? What? You don’t have it? There must be something the aunties drink,’” he said. When the members heard this, they responded, “Isn’t that rude?” to which Lim Woo-il retorted, “It’s just being cheeky.”
When Lee Mi-joo said, “He’s handsome, but there are many nice guys,” Lim Woo-il shouted, “Auntie!” causing laughter.
Yoo Jae-suk stated, “In these days when people are becoming cold-hearted, we created this company to spread warmth. We need to improve our company’s performance through good deeds. Have you heard of online filial piety? It’s when children promote their struggling self-employed parents on social media. We contacted some of the children doing online filial piety. So, we plan to go out secretly for their parents. We will visit a stationery store, a ramen shop, and a hamburger shop,” explaining their plans.
He continued, “Today, we invited someone knowledgeable about food,” calling actor Park Kwang-jae. Park Kwang-jae said, “I can eat up to 10 packets of ramen. I’m not someone who eats a lot,” as he prepared himself.
The stationery store team, consisting of Yoo Jae-suk, Haha, Park Kwang-jae, and Lee Mi-joo, checked the request sent by the client and headed to the stationery store. The members found the stationery store owner coming out and smiling widely, saying, “What’s going on here!” Yoo Jae-suk greeted the owner, saying, “We saw your daughter’s promotional post and came to visit.” The owner, whose sales had dropped by 40%, explained, “During the school opening period, I have to open until 8 AM. I close at 8:30 PM. Unless there’s something special, I don’t have days off. I can’t leave the store, so I bring my lunch from home.”
The members carried out the ‘having lunch together’ request that the owner’s daughter had made. The owner said, “Just seeing you is amazing. You brought my favorite dumplings? No wonder my son was asking, ‘Why is my sister suddenly asking what mom likes?’ My daughter sometimes buys dumplings from this place,” feeling pleased. The members admired, “How sweet is your daughter?”
After the meal, Lim Woo-il took out a lunch box to eat fruit at the table. However, the kimchi and stir-fried pork spilled, staining the stationery store, and the scene turned chaotic.
At that moment, Yoo Jae-suk, who stepped on a chair incorrectly, fell backward, and Haha exclaimed, “What are you doing? Are you filming a skit?” Yoo Jae-suk apologized to Lee Mi-joo, who fell because of him, saying, “I’m sorry, sir,” and kept bowing to the stationery store owner. The owner laughed, saying, “It’s because the space is small.”
Lim Woo-il followed Yoo Jae-suk and scolded, “I know you’re in the neighborhood, but why are you so excited today?”
Meanwhile, Lee Yi-kyung, Joo Woo-jae, Park Jin-joo, and Park Kwang-jae, heading to the ramen shop in Noryangjin, said, “Let’s attract customers by soliciting citizens,” and moved to the situation room. Seeing the empty ramen shop, Joo Woo-jae assessed, “Teachers, please prepare a bowl of ramen with all your heart.”
However, after confirming that there were only 10 customers during lunchtime, the members said, “Is this it? Then Yi-kyung will infiltrate first,” and began to take action. Yi-kyung said, “I’ll eat one bowl of ramen and give an honest review. I’ll also let you know the atmosphere of the store,” as he set out seriously.
After Yi-kyung finished his meal, the members went out to solicit customers, and suddenly, the store was flooded with customers. The client’s father smiled, saying, “Why is it so busy today? Haha,” completely unaware of what was happening.
With the continuous flow of customers, they eventually faced a shortage of seats.
After all the business was done, the members visited the store directly. When Lee Yi-kyung said, “We went out to let customers know about the store today,” the owner looked puzzled and said, “Oh, is that so?” The owner shared, “Being in your 50s is the hardest age. It’s tough to start something new,” conveying the difficult situation.
Then, when Lee Yi-kyung said, “Your daughter, So-min, conveyed the story,” the owner eventually shed tears. When Yi-kyung said, “They were worried about how to promote their favorite restaurant,” the owner replied, “I mentioned it last time. I posted it on SNS, but I didn’t know what would happen. Someone even wrote a letter and left it,” showing the letter.
Afterward, the members tasted various ramen made by the three owners and expressed their admiration.
Joo Woo-jae declared, “I will clear up the misunderstanding of being a light eater. I will eat four servings,” as he set his ambitions. When the ramen came out, Park Kwang-jae quickly finished three bowls.
Seeing this, Joo Woo-jae said, “So you like that style? Then I’ll do the same,” and took a big bite of noodles, while Park Kwang-jae remarked, “You really eat well. Was that your image all along?” in surprise. After finishing one bowl, Joo Woo-jae requested, “One more bowl, please! With pickled radish,” showing his light eater side, which ultimately brought laughter.
