Behind the scenes of the concert collaboration between Wing and GD was revealed on ‘Knowing Bros’.
On the afternoon of the 19th, the MBC entertainment program ‘Knowing Bros’ (hereafter ‘Knowing Bros’) showcased the daily life of beatboxer Wing.
In this episode, beatboxer Wing appeared as the first guest. He was warming up his voice with machine sounds and checked the comments on his beatbox support video after arriving at the studio in the morning. He mentioned that he checks the number of followers he gained right after waking up, charging his dopamine by reading the comments.
Wing's manager said, “It’s been 11 years since I’ve been with Wing. I’ve always been interested in beatboxers and was looking for videos, but one day, Wing appeared with white glasses, and it was shocking. There was no beatboxer releasing an album, but I thought it was a piece of art. I wanted people to consume it, so we released the album ‘Dopamine’.”
After finishing reading the comments, he applied lip balm and practiced beatboxing. The manager said, “We will be performing at GD’s concert. He suggested a collaboration stage with ‘Heartbreaker’, so our Wing will be on stage for two days. It’s said to be over 30,000 people. The process of making music only requires a mouth, but to deliver this sound to the audience, advanced technology is needed.”
He continued, “However, since we are not famous, our artists were treated poorly at the venue. Even if we brought our equipment with our own money, we often received treatment like ‘just do it moderately’. Thank you for showing interest. While thinking about how to enjoy beatboxing in Korea, I created the first beatbox competition in Korea with my own money. I paid for the plane tickets and accommodation, but it couldn’t happen because of COVID-19. I ended up with a lot of debt at that time. It feels like a dream that my artist, who was not recognized for so long, finally has the opportunity to show a live stage.”
The manager introduced the concert, saying, “We had a rehearsal, and GD wants to make Wing stand out, so he’s going to lift him up.”
Wing said, “He wants the intro to be really cool. When your beatbox comes out, the lights will sparkle,” and couldn’t hide his smile, saying, “How can I dare?”
Taking the manager's advice, Wing said, “I’ll start with a trombone for my entrance,” and confidently produced the beat. The manager humbly added, “It’s not because I’m good, but because we don’t have money, we do the composing, recording, and post-production ourselves. I also made the ‘Dopamine’ video.”
Wing declared, “If I can’t do it, it’s a failure, right? I have to do it!”
He proudly mentioned that a fan cafe was created, saying, “My friends produce sounds that I can’t make. So, the genre boundaries disappear.” The manager explained the reason for opening the fan cafe, saying, “I wanted to give back to the fans, so I opened the fan cafe.”
Wing reacted with surprise to the manager's statement, “I opened the cafe yesterday, and 480 people joined,” saying, “480? Now it’s 577. This is unbelievable.” While watching the VCR in the studio, he expressed his gratitude, saying, “Now there are 1583 members. I’m really thankful. These are things I never imagined in my life. I never thought I would have so many fans in Korea. Since then, visiting the fan cafe has become part of my morning dopamine.”
Upon arriving at the concert, he went straight to the stage after a pre-rehearsal. After witnessing his explosive performance, the manager expressed, “I’m so proud. Our efforts were not in vain. Thank you for fighting with me last year, and thank you for not bending your will. You can do it!” sending a heartfelt video message to Wing.

The second guest was broadcaster Park Kyung-rim. Recently, she mentioned that she moved her company and proudly showed off a pile of cue cards she collected to remember what she had done.
When Hong Hyun-hee asked how many events she does in a year, Park Kyung-rim replied, “Honestly, I’m not counting, but I think it’s dozens. I believe I’m the first to be contacted for events.” This surprised the panel. Hearing this, Song Eun-yi added, “Kyung-rim is being humble right now, but if Kyung-rim’s schedule doesn’t work out, they change the production report schedule.”
Early in the morning, Park Kyung-rim studied advertisements, videos, and trailers featuring Ma Dong-seok, the lead actor of the movie for which she was in charge of the production report.
In charge of the production report for ‘Holy Night’, she headed to the event site with glamorous makeup and fashion. Meeting Ma Dong-seok, Park Kyung-rim boasted about their friendship, saying, “Oppa, you’re planning this too, right? Please take this.” Ma Dong-seok responded, “The world’s best MC Park Kyung-rim! I’m so happy that ‘Holy Night’ is finally being released.”
As the production presentation began, Park Kyung-rim showcased her excellent hosting skills. After the presentation, Seo Hyun said, “Your outfit matches with us, and you look so beautiful,” hugging Park Kyung-rim tightly.
On another day, Kyung-rim looked for a personal dance instructor. The dance instructor introduced, “This time, Park Kyung-rim will participate as the principal of the show musical ‘Dream High’. She has recruited all the musical actors. She needed help with choreography, so I’m assisting her.”
Park Kyung-rim revealed the backstory of her participation in the musical, saying, “I hosted the production presentation for the show musical ‘Dream High’ two years ago. The reason for the production is so wonderful. I wanted to create a stage where these people can stand without worrying about their livelihoods, so I decided to participate. The principal role is paid, but the director does it from the heart. I decided to donate for the youth preparing for independence.”
Putting all the energy of a dance singer into it, she successfully completed the musical practice.
‘Knowing Bros’ airs every Saturday at 11:10 PM on MBC.
