The transformation of 1st year resident Go Yoon-jung in ‘Someday, a Wise Resident Life’ is intriguing.

In the tvN weekend drama ‘Someday, a Wise Resident Life’ (Creators Shin Won-ho, Lee Woo-jung, Screenplay Kim Song-hee, Directed by Lee Min-soo, hereafter ‘Unsljeon’), the rookie O Yi-young (played by Go Yoon-jung) is gradually integrating into hospital life and showing growth. Here, we revisit O Yi-young's upgrade process.

To pay off her debts, O Yi-young became a resident in the obstetrics and gynecology department at Jongno Yulje Hospital, attracting the attention of her peers, seniors, and professors with her seemingly indifferent attitude towards everything. Her personality, which insists on speaking her mind regardless of time and place, caught the eye of the notoriously strict professor Seo Jeong-min (played by Lee Bong-ryeon), foreshadowing O Yi-young's challenging social life.

To make matters worse, the fellow Myung Eun-won (played by Kim Hye-in), who has a cunning personality, kept O Yi-young's desire to escape the hospital alive. Although she attempted to make a run for it with her enormous bag like a moving truck, the emergency signals ringing throughout the hospital kept her grounded.

While she was worried about a pregnant woman complaining of abdominal pain during a power outage, she also comforted a patient struggling before a major surgery, revealing a warm heart hidden behind her seemingly indifferent face, warming the hearts of viewers. Notably, her first experience of delivering a baby left an unforgettable and intense impression on O Yi-young.

Moreover, O Yi-young, who repeatedly said, “Me?” surprised everyone by stepping into the operating room to assist Professor Seo Jeong-min in suturing, taking the place of Chief Koo Do-won (played by Jung Joon-won). After the surgery, when Seo Jeong-min praised O Yi-young by saying, “You have good hands,” it hinted that her perception had shifted from a suspicious character to a promising talent.

Above all, the process of O Yi-young, who was not familiar with social life to the point that her sister O Joo-young (played by Jung Un-sun) worried about her, becoming friends with her colleagues was heartwarming. She even reached out first, pretending not to notice Kim Sa-bi (played by Han Ye-ji) throwing away a post-it note with her work details out of jealousy.

Additionally, O Yi-young's straightforward approach towards her crush, senior resident Koo Do-won, is raising viewers' excitement levels. O Yi-young finds herself irresistibly drawn to Koo Do-won, who protects her from misunderstandings caused by Myung Eun-won and comforts her over mistakes made in the operating room.

For Koo Do-won, she sends sweet glances and suggests eating frozen pork belly, while also boldly holding his hand during a group photo, amplifying the thrill of her affection. As a result, viewers are increasingly curious about O Yi-young's social life, where medical, human, and romantic elements coexist.

The upgrade of rookie Go Yoon-jung, who is challenging herself in forming human relationships, is ongoing in ‘Someday, a Wise Resident Life’, which airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:20 PM.
