MBC has launched a content curation service called 'MBC Masterpieces'.
On the 24th, MBC announced the opening of the 'MBC Masterpieces' service, where viewers can meet beloved past popular programs in one place.
The 'MBC Masterpieces' service showcases classic content that has left a mark in the hearts of viewers, categorizing dramas, variety shows, and educational programs aired from before the 1990s to the 2020s by genre, era, and theme. It features a 'time travel' concept for dramas, detailed genre compositions like 'From Friends to Lovers', and emotional and innovative thematic curation such as 'When Mom and Dad Were Young', 'Jang Hee-bin by Era', and 'Mutual Salvation Restaurants' that stimulate users' curiosity.
A particularly noteworthy corner is the 'Today × That Day' service. This service introduces programs that first aired on the same date in the past, a corner that finds episodes of 'Infinite Challenge' that aired on today's date, and a section that presents the corresponding broadcast of the longest-running TV drama in Korea, 'Country Diary', allowing users to encounter new memories every day.
The person in charge of planning and operating 'MBC Masterpieces' at iMBC stated, "For those in their 30s and 40s, it will provide warm nostalgia and memories, while for those under 20, it will offer a special encounter with past masterpieces they have not yet experienced," adding, "We hope to showcase the power of 'masterpieces' that possess timeless value in the rapidly changing content market."
'MBC Masterpieces' can be conveniently accessed anytime and anywhere via PC and mobile.
To celebrate the service launch, various participatory events have been prepared. In the 'Masterpiece Memory Quiz', participants can challenge themselves with quizzes about famous lines and characters from MBC's representative programs. Additionally, through the 'My Life's Masterpiece' event, individuals can recommend a list of programs that hold personal memories, and selected recommendations will be revealed in the 'MBC Masterpieces' service. Participants will also have a chance to win small gifts through a lottery.
Participation in the events can be easily done through the event menu on the MBC website or the banner within the Masterpieces service.
