Former baseball player Park Yong-geun made a surprise proposal to his wife Chaerina after 10 years of marriage.
In the episode aired on the 28th, TV Chosun’s ‘Lovers of Joseon’ depicted the wedding preparation process of the couple Chaerina and Park Yong-geun.
On that day, Park Yong-geun secretly met with the production team, catching attention. He said, “I want to propose before the wedding. I want to do something small that can remain as a special memory.”
Park Yong-geun set the dress tour day as the proposal day and made specific plans. He mentioned that he would receive video messages from people Chaerina likes and personally asked Kim Ho-young, Ayumi, Narsha, and Baek Ji-young for video letters.
On the much-anticipated proposal day, Park Yong-geun expressed his anxiety, saying, “I don’t know if I can do well.” He handed the USB containing the video letters to the production team and shouted for encouragement. Then, support from Jinny and Lee Min-kyung arrived.
As Chaerina disappeared behind the curtain for the dress fitting, Lee Min-kyung advised Park Yong-geun, “The reaction when the curtain opens is the most important. If you don’t react at this moment, she will be upset.” When Chaerina came out in the first dress, Park Yong-geun couldn’t take his eyes off her, repeatedly saying, “You look really beautiful.”
When Chaerina appeared in the third dress, the proposal event began. Watching the video letters from her close friends, Chaerina’s eyes welled up with tears, and she began to sob when her family appeared.
After the video letters ended, Park Yong-geun opened the door and read a letter he had written himself. He expressed, “To me, Chaerina is my number one in life. Receiving the ring, Chaerina confessed, “Actually, I secretly saw this ring when we went to Changwon. I spent two weeks wondering, ‘Is this mine?’” which brought laughter.
