‘Trot prodigy’ Park Seong-on is set to color this weekend with his new song ‘Straight Ahead’ as he appears consecutively on the music programs of the three major broadcasting networks.
Park Seong-on will perform on KBS2’s ‘Music Bank’ on the 10th at 5:05 PM. Following that, he will appear on MBC’s ‘Show! Music Core’ on the 11th and SBS’s ‘Inkigayo’ on the 12th. He will showcase his new song ‘Straight Ahead’ on three consecutive days of music programs from Friday to Sunday.
Park Seong-on will take the stage with a 6-member dance team, presenting a lively and dynamic performance that combines the cheerful melody of ‘Straight Ahead’ with exciting choreography and stage manners, delivering the bright and confident energy of a pure man. His refreshing vocals and intense performance are expected to capture the viewers' attention.
In particular, having previously showcased a unique stage with a four-member female school band during his music broadcast appearances, attention is focused on what kind of stage he will present this time.
‘Straight Ahead’ is a ‘rock trot’ genre song that represents a different attempt by Park Seong-on, who has earned the nickname ‘Emotional Genius’ through songs like ‘Sakong’ and ‘Saligo’. The lyrics and emotional melody, which capture the common ground between the older generation who lived through the era of pure love and passion and the MZ generation, are sung at a fast tempo, making it relatable to everyone. This new song has garnered much attention as it features co-lyricist and composer Kim Jeong-eon, known as the father of singer Bibi, who is well-known for ‘Bam Yanggang’.
Park Seong-on gained attention as a trot prodigy after winning JTBC’s ‘Hidden Singer’ in the ‘Song Ga-in’ episode in 2022, and subsequently winning the ‘King of Kings’ competition in ‘Hidden Singer 7’. In 2023, he received great love by being recognized for his skills at a young age, reaching the TOP 7 in TV Chosun’s ‘Mr. Trot 2’.
