Actor Kang Ha-neul praised the presence of Chae Won-bin, with whom he shared acting chemistry in 'The Opposition'.
On the morning of the 8th, Kang Ha-neul conducted an interview for the movie 'The Opposition' at a café located in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
'The Opposition' is a crime action film that unfolds as a broker designing the drug trade in South Korea, a prosecutor aiming for higher status, and a detective who bets everything on eradicating drug crimes, intertwine with different objectives. Kang Ha-neul plays the role of Lee Kang-soo, who operates in the opposition.
Chae Won-bin plays the role of actress Um Soo-jin, who falls from grace due to investigative competition in 'The Opposition', and shared acting chemistry with Kang Ha-neul. Kang Ha-neul mentioned, "There is one scene that I remember. When I didn't know Chae Won-bin well, I saw the video of the tester shoot. After watching the tester shoot, I asked the director, 'What movie is this?' and the director said it was our movie's tester shoot."
"I really thought it was a scene from an overseas movie," Kang Ha-neul said, adding, "Chae Won-bin has a strangely captivating charm when she is in front of the camera, different from reality. It was a scene where she didn't say anything, but it felt like she was speaking just by being still." He continued, "Later, when I met Chae Won-bin on set, I told her, 'I saw the tester shoot, and that feeling was really amazing.' Chae Won-bin seemed a bit puzzled while saying 'Yes.'
He further stated, "In fact, I still can't forget that scene. Throughout the filming of the movie, I kept thinking about that tester shoot video. It was a scene shot on a motorboat heading to a yacht, and it surprised me to the point that it felt like a scene from a Hong Kong movie that I really liked. Even though it was a tester shoot, it gave off a vibe like 'Chungking Express.'
Finally, Kang Ha-neul shared why he found filming 'The Opposition' enjoyable, saying, "I usually have fun filming any project. As everyone knows, the director is cheerful, and the staff are also very pleasant and experienced, so it felt like everything clicked together perfectly. It went smoothly, and it was fun."
