Actress Joo Hyun-young has opened up about the reason for her departure from ‘SNL Korea’.
On the 9th, a video titled “Joo Hyun-young’s heartfelt confessions. From the reason for leaving SNL to behind-the-scenes stories and personal talents” was uploaded on the channel ‘Studio Chikichaka’.
In the video, Lee Soo-ji mentioned, “There are really many fans who miss Hyun-young since she left SNL. There are so many comments on SNL videos asking, ‘Why isn’t Joo Hyun-young appearing?’” To this, Joo Hyun-young replied, “This is the first time I’m talking about this.”
When Lee Soo-ji continued, “There were various comments about the reason you left. You saw them too, right?” Joo Hyun-young said, “Of course, I know. Many people around me sent them to me.”
Lee Soo-ji expressed, “I wanted to comment, ‘That’s not it,’” and added, “Hyun-young wrote letters to the SNL crew and production team expressing her regrets and her future goals and plans.”
Joo Hyun-young also explained, “The senior crew members all said, ‘We respect your choice and will support you in the future.’ In fact, when I left, my stance of focusing on acting was reported in the news. But many people don’t know that.”
She continued, “Let me clarify. The reasons and various circumstances surrounding my graduation from ‘SNL’ were reported. You can just believe that.”
Joo Hyun-young, who joined ‘SNL’ in September 2021 and received much love for her various characters, announced her departure last January.
