Having gained great popularity by winning 'Current King of Masked Singers', Jeon Yu-jin presented her title track 'Butterfly' from her first mini-album 'Only You' on this day.
Born in 2006, Jeon Yu-jin is a 6-year veteran trot singer who debuted at the age of 14. She mentioned that she turned 20 this year and took the college entrance exam last year. When Kim Tae-kyun expressed surprise at her early debut, Jeon Yu-jin explained, "I always liked singing on stage. I won the grand prize at a music contest I participated in for fun, and after that, I started receiving offers for broadcasts."
Regarding her feelings about winning 'Current King of Masked Singers', she said, "I never expected it," and added, "I had participated in many audition programs before. I thought a lot before deciding to go on 'Current King of Masked Singers'." When asked how far she thought she would go, she honestly replied, "At first, I had no greed at all. When I did the Ace match, I felt like I could go far. As the results turned out well, I started to feel greedy." She mentioned that she plans to use the prize money for college tuition and settling down in Seoul.
Jeon Yu-jin chose Sung Si-kyung's 'Two People' as a song she often sang when she was younger. She explained, "I was greatly influenced by my parents. My mom liked ballads, and my dad liked trot. My mom especially loved Sung Si-kyung's 'Two People'." It caught attention that Jeon Yu-jin's mother was born in 1979, making her the same age as Sung Si-kyung.
