Girls' Generation member and actress Seohyun's thought-provoking post after attending the '2024 KBS Drama Awards' has become a hot topic.
On the 12th, Seohyun wrote on a fan communication platform, “The final winner is the good person,” adding, “Let’s reflect on this saying today and wrap up the day meaningfully. I am always grateful and love you all.”
The day before (11th), Seohyun served as the MC for the '2024 KBS Drama Awards,' where Kim Jung-hyun, who had previously worked with her on 'Time,' won the Best Actor award for 'Iron Family.'
He expressed, “A few years ago, I thought I would never act again. There were various reasons, and I thought I couldn’t do it, but I am grateful to be able to stand here,” and added, “I believe true gratitude cannot be achieved without reflecting on the past. At one time, I hurt many people and caused frowns with very bad and unacceptable behavior. I sincerely apologize from this place.”
Seohyun's thought-provoking post has led to speculation that it reflects her feelings about the hurt caused by Kim Jung-hyun's past mistakes. Kim Jung-hyun faced controversy in 2018 for refusing to pose as a couple with Seohyun during a photo time at the production presentation of the MBC drama 'Time.'
Ultimately, Kim Jung-hyun, who left the drama midway, issued a handwritten apology in April 2021, stating, “The entire process of leaving the drama 'Time' midway and my actions at the production presentation were wrong,” and added, “I sincerely apologize to Seohyun and all the staff who worked hard with me at that time for the hurt I caused.”
At that time, it was reported that “Kim Jung-hyun often showed discomfort whenever there were romantic scenes,” “He roughly wiped his hands with a wet tissue immediately after the scene with Seohyun,” and “Seohyun was seen crying on set after witnessing that behavior,” according to shocking testimonies from the staff on site.
