Actor Shin Hyun-joon expressed his longing for the late Kim Soo-mi.
On the 13th, in the episode of ‘Jjanhan Hyung’ on the YouTube channel ‘Jjanhan Hyung Shin Dong-yeob’, movie stars Jung Joon-ho and Shin Hyun-joon appeared as guests.
On that day, when Shin Dong-yeob mentioned the late Kim Soo-mi, Shin Hyun-joon recalled, "Mom Soo-mi really liked lisianthus. So, I always gave her lisianthus in various colors on her birthday. Strangely, this year I gave her white ones."
Shin Hyun-joon said he heard the news of Kim Soo-mi's passing while heading to the airport for a fan meeting in Japan. He recounted, "My wife said, 'Oppa, don't be surprised,' and I asked, 'Why?' She said, 'Mom Soo-mi has passed away.' But I had just received a call from my mom saying the flowers were beautiful. Her voice sounded so weak that I asked if she was okay, and she said, 'I'm fine. We'll see each other soon.' But then I found out she had passed away."
He continued, "I couldn't believe it and searched online. I asked to turn the car around, but the funeral home hadn't been decided yet. I was looking at her portrait at a place that hadn't even started the arrangements, and I couldn't accept it."
He added, "What's really amazing is that so many people comforted me as if my own mother had passed away. Teacher Choi Bool-am also called me. He said, 'Hyun-joon, I'm watching your drama,' and it felt just like my mom. He filled that void and sent me messages, and I was so grateful for that."
