Former MBC announcer Son Jeong-eun revealed her divorce for the first time.
Son Jeong-eun appeared as a guest on the 299th episode of KBS Joy's 'Ask Anything' aired on the 13th, drawing attention. The MCs recognized her immediately.
On that day, Son Jeong-eun said, "I am 44 years old this year. I am a freelancer," and reflected, "I worked at MBC for 15 years, mostly as a news anchor. It was good, but that image became fixed. People said I seemed stiff and cold. I was stuck with a cold image."
In reality, her personality is bright and positive, with a bit of clumsiness. She explained that she was voted the number one announcer whose on-screen persona differed from her real self in the announcer's department, which led her to declare herself a freelancer.
She also confessed her personal story of 'divorce.' She married a businessman in charge of overseas export business after dating for about a year on October 1, 2011.
Son Jeong-eun shared, "There were significant changes. My father passed away six years ago, and it was very hard at that time. The following year, I got divorced from my husband," adding, "While working at the company and having to broadcast, I always had to smile. It was mentally tough. So I took a leave of absence, and after a year, I found the courage to quit when I felt healed."
She continued, "My seniors all advised against it, but I decided to look for a new path. The past three years were a time for me to fill myself. Now I feel like I can do anything."
