In the third round of the finals of ‘Current King of Singers 2’, 20 contestants advanced, and unexpected results emerged in the first round.

The 7th episode of MBN’s 30th anniversary special ‘Current King of Singers 2’, aired on the night of the 14th at 9:50 PM, achieved a peak rating of 11.7% and a nationwide rating of 11% (according to Nielsen Korea).

In this broadcast, the 20 contestants who made it to the third round of the finals engaged in a fierce competition called ‘One Song Battle’, where two contestants shared the performance of one song.

Notably, in the first round of the ‘One Song Battle’, prominent contestants such as Hwang Min-ho, Enok, Jin Hae-sung, Park Gu-yoon, Kang Moon-kyung, and Shin Seung-tae tasted defeat.

After the second round of the finals concluded, the contestants gathered in one place, and the celebrity judging panel conducted a vote to determine the eliminated contestants, reflecting their expectations for the future, excluding the Enok team (Enok, Park Seo-jin, Noh Ji-hoon, Han Gang, Kim Kyung-min), who all advanced to the third round. As a result of the voting, the final eliminated contestants were Yang Ji-won, Choi Woo-jin, Yoo Min, Gong Hoon, and Jeon Jong-hyuk, leaving 20 contestants remaining, while the contestants shed tears watching the eliminated members leave. Enok, who led the team mission to first place, was also celebrated as the MVP of the second round of the finals.

As the curtain rises on the third round of the finals, the first round will consist of a ‘One Song Battle’ where two contestants share a total score of 300 points, and the second round will be a ‘Flip Match’. It was announced that the combined scores of the first and second rounds would determine the top 11 contestants who would advance directly to the semifinals, while the bottom 9 would be at risk of elimination, heightening the tension.

In particular, the first round MVP Hwang Min-ho and Taekwondo trot Na Tae-joo delivered a fantastic harmony and an attractive stage, but Hwang Min-ho was unable to showcase his true abilities due to a vastly different vocal range, leading to Na Tae-joo winning with a unanimous vote from the celebrity judging panel.

After the conclusion of the first round of the ‘One Song Battle’ in the third round of the finals, the rankings of the 20 contestants were announced, with Na Tae-joo in 1st place, Kim Soo-chan in 2nd, Park Seo-jin in 3rd, Shin Yu in 4th, Song Min-jun in 5th, Han Gang in 6th, Hwan Hee in 7th, Noh Ji-hoon in 8th, and Seong Ri and Choi Soo-ho in 9th place.

Following this, each contestant prepared for their solo performances. Notably, the ‘Flip Match’ doubled the voting points from the first round of 300 points to a total of 600 points, creating an exhilarating opportunity to overturn the results of the first round.

As the combined scores of the first and second rounds put 9 contestants at risk of elimination, attention is focused on whether the contestants ranked 13th to 20th, including Park Gu-yoon, Jae-ha, Jin Hae-sung, Kang Moon-kyung, Shin Seung-tae, Kim Kyung-min, Enok, and Hwang Min-ho, can stage a comeback and advance to the semifinals.
