BLACKPINK surpasses SEVENTEEN and BTS... Ranked 1st in January Idol Group Brand Reputation

According to the big data analysis results of idol group brand reputation for January 2025, BLACKPINK ranked 1st, followed by SEVENTEEN in 2nd and BTS in 3rd.

The Korean Corporate Reputation Research Institute extracted 109,236,334 pieces of big data on idol group brands from December 23, 2024, to January 23, 2025, for the analysis of idol group brand reputation. This is a 6.61% increase compared to the 102,460,339 pieces of big data from December.

The brand reputation index is an indicator created through brand big data analysis, which finds that consumers' online habits have a significant impact on brand consumption. Through the analysis of idol group brand reputation, it is possible to measure positive and negative evaluations of idol group brands, media interest, and the level of consumer interest and communication. Qualitative evaluations from brand reputation monitors were also included.

The idol group brand reputation is analyzed by integrating the brand categories of boy groups and girl groups, measuring consumer participation index, media index, communication index, and community index to analyze the brand reputation index.

The top 30 idol group brand reputations for January 2025 are ranked as follows: BLACKPINK, SEVENTEEN, BTS, IVE, aespa, ITZY, BIGBANG, SHINee, (G)I-DLE, ENHYPEN, Stray Kids, TWICE, TO1, Red Velvet, ILY:1, NCT, Fifty Fifty, EXO, LE SSERAFIM, HIGHKEY, ATEEZ, RISE, BABYMONSTER, BTOB, THE BOYZ, INFINITE, NMIXX, SUPER JUNIOR, IZ*ONE, BOYNEXTDOOR.

BLACKPINK, which ranked 1st in idol group brand reputation, has a participation index of 322,598, media index of 746,528, communication index of 2,127,104, and community index of 8,045,472, resulting in a brand reputation index of 11,241,702. This is a 13.69% decrease compared to the brand reputation index of 13,024,795 in December.

SEVENTEEN, ranked 2nd, has a participation index of 279,790, media index of 499,249, communication index of 1,932,277, and community index of 5,315,343, resulting in a brand reputation index of 8,026,659. This is a 33.56% increase compared to the brand reputation index of 6,009,687 in December.

BTS, ranked 3rd, has a participation index of 176,106, media index of 650,441, communication index of 1,567,563, and community index of 3,946,317, resulting in a brand reputation index of 6,340,427. This is a 10.55% increase compared to the brand reputation index of 5,735,127 in December.

IVE, ranked 4th, has a participation index of 247,352, media index of 365,302, communication index of 2,082,438, and community index of 2,784,452, resulting in a brand reputation index of 5,479,545. This is a 19.33% increase compared to the brand reputation index of 4,592,066 in December.

aespa, ranked 5th, has a participation index of 241,276, media index of 354,509, communication index of 1,205,095, and community index of 3,349,750, resulting in a brand reputation index of 5,150,630. This is an 11.52% increase compared to the brand reputation index of 4,618,394 in December.

Korean Corporate Reputation Research Institute Director Koo Chang-hwan stated, “In the January 2025 idol group brand reputation rankings, BLACKPINK (Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, Lisa) ranked 1st. Looking at the idol group brand category, there was a 6.61% increase compared to the 102,460,339 pieces of big data from December. A detailed analysis shows a 13.04% decrease in brand consumption, a 3.37% decrease in brand issues, a 5.98% increase in brand communication, and an 11.46% increase in brand spread.”

He continued, “In the January 2025 idol group brand reputation rankings, BLACKPINK (Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, Lisa) had high scores in link analysis for ‘expecting, supporting, and making a comeback,’ and in keyword analysis, ‘Rosé, full group, and Jennie’ scored high. The positive-to-negative ratio analysis recorded a positive ratio of 93.20%.”

The big data analysis of idol group brand reputation for January 2025 was conducted on BLACKPINK, SEVENTEEN, BTS, IVE, aespa, ITZY, BIGBANG, SHINee, (G)I-DLE, ENHYPEN, Stray Kids, TWICE, TO1, Red Velvet, ILY:1, NCT, Fifty Fifty, EXO, LE SSERAFIM, HIGHKEY, ATEEZ, RISE, BABYMONSTER, BTOB, THE BOYZ, INFINITE, NMIXX, SUPER JUNIOR, IZ*ONE, BOYNEXTDOOR, OH MY GIRL, MONSTA X, STAYC, APINK, SIGNATURE, ASTRO, KISS OF LIFE, MAMAMOO, TVXQ, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, TREASURE, GOT7, WJSN, ZEROBASEONE, KEPLER, WANNA ONE, tripleS, CRAVITY, CAT'S EYE, and HIGHLIGHT from December 23, 2024, to January 23, 2025.
